We had been to the restaurant some years ago and had a wonderfull evening. This week we had made reservations in the restaurant thinking we would have a table in the same restaurant. However, when arriving in the restaurant, we were told that the only tables available were upstairs (despite several free tables downstairs). The "upstairs" dining room resembles nothing of the restaurant's ambiance. Whereas downstairs is "alive" and "buzzing", upstairs is "dead" and without any connection to the restaurant, it would seem like a different restaurant all together. The music was very loud and awful.
Thankfully the service and food were of a good standard, but never again will we eat in this upstairs restaurant. The Maitre explained that thet did not confirm reservations upstairs or downstairs, so why were there free tables downstairs when we arrived ? Why were all the non-french tourists placed upstairs ?
