“Dated and uncomfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Stayed here four nights whilst on a Normandy battlefields tour.
Rooms cramped and dingy, no ventilation at all, extractor in bathroom didn't work and no opening windows Only one coathanger and a poor bathroom with cracked and stained washbasin and corroded shower screen.
Fixed dinners were OK but not particularly enticing. Bar service was patchy (better if there were no French customers!), do you believe they ran out of red house wine in France?
Some of the staff were friendly, others pretty surly.
Location is not convenient - nothing else within walking distance.
Just about scraped an average, but definitely wouldn't stay again.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

April 2013 - Our group of 21 kids and 20 adults (parents and chaperones) arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm tired after a long coach trip from Ireland. After checking in some of our group went for showers to freshen up while others headed to the bar only to be informed that the bar closed at 10.30pm and on checking with hotel staff we were told there wasn't any nearby off-licence so, with nothing else to do we disappointedly headed for bed and television in our rooms. In a number of rooms there was a problem with televisions not working which management were unable to resolve. In any event, all available channels (including one porn!) were in French. Rooms themselves were clean and beds comfortable. Bathrooms also clean. Continental breakfast was excellent with good variety of food.

This hotel was very comfortable, although the drinks were very expensive,we were on a meal deal with the tour but we thought the quality was very poor ,we did not try the a la cart menue.Saying this we would stay at this hotel again as it was clean and the rooms we very comfortable.

We stayed on the way back to Calais. My daughter and her family had a lovely double bedroom (five foot bed) and a single bed and I had the same in an adjoining room. The room and bathroom was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. The main courses in the restaurant were only 12 Euros plus tax each and had a good choice. This was an unplanned stay but enjoyed every minute of it.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Stayed here en-route to Brittany - 17/8/12 - a stinking hot day - we'd had a long journey and arrived hot and bothered to a full hotel. Problem - even though the print out of the booking indicated 2 adults + 2 children - the hotel had received from Expedia 2 adults + 1 child (and she showed us the booking).
I was prepared to sleep on the floor on any old mattress but was not happy - but was polite with the lady. I could see she was flustered & on her own so I asked her to take her time sorting our problem & bless her she came back with 2 twin rooms for the 4 of us at no extra cost. Brilliant thing to do.
Breakfast was fine - but friendly service, friendly people and great spot for visiting the war graves - on edge of the city. Thanks to the young girl on the counter who could see the problem and really did something about it. Cheers

1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

After looking at the pictures online I thought this would be a good place to stay... Boy was I wrong. When we arrived we had to rooms of which both of the rooms were dirty and to make it worse we found hair in the sheets! I had planned on staying here for 2 nights, but changed the plans at that point and only stayed one night. Good thing since the bed was terrible and make me feel like I was years older the next morning. The staff was very helpful and accommodating as they let us cancel the reservation without any problems. If you can help it I would avoid this hotel.
