“Delightful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

A gem! Beautiful restored home with large rooms, modern bathrooms, and a wonderful private backyard. Easy walking proximity to central Bayeux and the cathedral, tapestry of William the Conquerer plus shops / restaurants. Carole and Jerome are most gracious hosts providing helpful information about the many regional things to see and do.

Carole and Jerome were wonderful hosts of their sweet maison with nice quiet backyard and a five minute walk to the center of town. Our experience was Classic 5-star B&B treatment !!!

Large bedroom and nice bathroom.

Take all of our advice and go.

We thoroughly enjoyed three nights here with Carole, Jerome and their delightful family. Clos de Bellefontaine is very comfortable with a lot of space available to spread out and relax. It's also very close the the centre of the old town meaning that you have no problems with parking and the like. As other reviewers have commented, Carole prepares a sumptuous breakfast which my wife, daughters and I enjoyed very much.
Whilst there, we were hoping that my girls could hone their language skills. Carole and Jerome's family were of similar age groups and our girls ended up spending time chatting together whilst we shared a drink and some food with our hosts. This added a really special element to our stay, something we could never have hoped for in a hotel.
Carole was very helpful in letting us know where to eat and to visit whilst we were in Normandy and although we did a lot, we feel like we would love to go back.
Whilst not cheap, it was certainly worth every centime.

Room Tip: The twin bedded room is at the top of a narrow staircase and mightn't be easy for anyone with im...

This beautiful B&B was a perfect stay for us while we visited the area to tour Normandy. It is within walking distance to the train station and the center of town where the restaurants and shops are. Carole provided a large, delicious breakfast each morning. The room was cleaned each day and we were provided with bottled water. We would love to stay again if we ever travel back to Bayeux.

My husband and I stayed with Carole and Jerome (and their friendly cuddling cats) for 3 days which were very pleasant. Lovely spacious room, great generous breakfast and, above all, great tips and very usefule information from Carole which really helped us plan the days and make the most out of our time. Highly recommended!!

A great place to stay and experience the beautiful city of Bayeaux. Centrally located this house allows you to walk everywhere in the city. We stayed for 2 nights in a most comfortable and elegant room. Carole was an excellent host and her breakfast table unforgetable. After 15 days travelling through France and staying at different locations we agreed this to be the top one. I would love to go back!!!!!!

Room Tip: I requested a room that was in the lower floor because of walking difficulties and was able to stay...

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights while we did a 2-day tour with Overlord Tours. The house is lovely and conveniently located with a 5-10 minute walk to/from the train and the town center. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We had the 3rd floor room with two single beds and found it to be comfortable. The bath was across the landing and is not a stand up shower, but the tub has a shower nozzle and should not be a problem unles you have mobility issues. The breakfast was very good, wifi was available, and the living area was comfortable. We had an afternoon train and Carol kindly let us spend a few hours in the living room area after we checked out. I would recommend and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Don't book the top floor room (there are 2 rooms in the house) if you have trouble with stairs a...
