“Staying in Bayeux, Simply the best.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

..Tis difficult finding words of praise, grititude , appreciation , satisfaction , and real value for money that have not already been wriiten. As a Group we all appreciated the personal welcome and knowledge provided by Patricia during our arrival and check in. To also be welcomed by Mireille, the manager, and her subsiquent help in providing a adaptor power plug was much appreciated.Again no worries with location.Family room , we all slept well in comfortable beds ,bunk beds included..A good number of power points, so that"gadget charging "was not a problem.Breakfast , if you left hungry, tis your own fault.

A HUGE thanks to Mireille, the manager. Simply one of the most charming ladies. SUPER pro-American- more patriotic than most Americans I know. The whole place is done-up with British, Canadian and American flags and war photos and military paraphernalia. HUGE military enthusiast. SUPER reasonable room to begin with (we got a triple), then she upgraded us to a quad for free (a little extra space, great to have with three adults and a toddler). Delicious 10E breakfast in the morning; definitely spring for it. Eggs and bacon, along with all the cheeses, breads, jams and meats usually found in a French breakfast. Found out I was US military and invited me to have a glass of calvados with her in the evenings. I felt like I was staying at someone's home, rather than a hotel. We'd almost go back to Bayeux exclusively for this experience.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Le Bayeux for a couple of nights. We really enjoyed the hotel - very friendly atmosphere, very affordable, good location (a stone's throw from the tapestry and the cathedral as well as the main resto/shopping district), and centrally placed for all the DDay and Battle of Normandy sights etc. The room itself was decently sized for the area and had all the necessary amenities. But, what makes this hotel stand out from the crowd is the high level of service from the staff. They all are great.

For my small groups that book my D-Day tours I normally stay in Caen. But after 3 nights at the Hotel Le Bayeux I will definately be returning. All of my people thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The hotel was so warm and extremely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. IT had a lovely family feel. The breakfast was 1st class, and included the usual continental selection and more with the superb added bonus of bacon, eggs and tomatoes, and delicious hot pancakes. This really set my guys up for the day. There is parking very close by, and the hotel is so central for all of Bayeux's attractions, shopping and restaurants. We were recommended 2 good eateries and we weren't disappointed; in fact we got free drinks and appetisers.
If your'e looking for a great value hotel, with a very warm welcome. Look no further. WE WILL BE BACK!

We stayed here for 2 nights having put together our own plans to tour the D Day beaches, museums and cemeteries. Very reasonable at 200 Euros for 2 double rooms for 2 nights. Helpful staff and clean, cosy rooms. Bayeux seemed pretty empty during our stay but this hotel is near to the beautiful cathedral and a number of good restaurants. A great trip. Hotel Le Bayeux was brilliantly located with easy connecting roads for the 5 Normandy beaches.
We thought 10 Euros each for breakfast was a bit steep, so we skipped this (and therefore cannot comment on the food)!

I booked our stay via booking.com the night before arrival, and upon arrival the next day, the room was ready and our welcome was warm and hugely informative by Clementine, she took her time explaining the best spots to visit and helped us with our weekend plan.

The hotel itself for us was an absolute bargain as we booked so late, I am sure we paid a lot less than the normal asking price for the room. The hotel is a 3 star hotel and that is exactly what should be expected, the room was basic but offered everything needed. I would advice to accept the €10 breakfast as it is a full buffet. Also there is a nice touch of an honesty box for teas, coffees, beers and wines in the reception downstairs. Parking wise, if visited out of season there are numerous roads adjacent offering free parking, otherwise there are a number of paid parking lots within walking distance.

Overall a lovely hotel, made all the better from the wonderful customer service.

Everything about this hotel reflects comfort, friendliness, warmth, and historic importance.

The whole staff was excellent, and Patricia and Vito blew me away with their efficiency, knowledge, and promptness to fulfill all my requests.

I especially enjoyed the comforts of my room and my spacious, wonderfully lit bathroom. The skylight is an added treat.

The breakfast was delicious, had a lot of choices and varieties. The fruit was fresh, and there were chilled drinks as well as ones at room temperature.

This hotel is centrally located, it is quaint, welcoming, and definitely warrants a return visit.

Don't leave without taking the WWII tour. It was amazing.
