“Very nice place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We enjoyed staying here. Our room, #10, was very spacious. The bathroom was huge with a large tub. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Just try to go early to avoid a full salon. The grounds are beautiful and clean with a small canal running through it. They do have an elevator, but we used the stairs except when we were moving luggage. Ther.e was plenty of parking for our vehicle. The staff was friendly and spoke English. The receptionist at the desk when we checked out helped us take the correct highway out of town toward our next destination.
The Chateau is within comfortable walking distance to the center of Bayeaux. We walked back and forth several times with no problems.

We unexpectedly needed accommodation for one night whilst travelling through France and were lucky enough to book in here. Our suite was lovely with lovely modern facilities set in the elegant grounds of the Chateau. Great location easily accessed from the main road and a good place to base yourself to explore the area. We left early to catch a ferry so didn't get breakfast. Would definitely return.

We were in the chateau in probably one of the most luxurious rooms i have ever stayed, which is saying something. Now wouldn't you think they would not put a couple with a dog in a truly lovely room?, so i can only assume all the rooms are of a similar high standard. There is a lovely residents lounge, with open fire, internet access and coffee facility. We had one evening meal which was good, and saved us driving out to find somewhere. We also had breakfast, perfectly adequate. The two nights were very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this hotel .

Gorgeous property! We stayed in one of the apartments while visiting the area this January. The room was lovely and had lots of character! Two levels and plenty of room for everyone! We opted for the buffet breakfast (not included) and it was very nice, set in a dining room room with a view of the gardens. The location was great for seeing the city of Bayeux and the Normandy beaches!

Cons: There were very few channels available on tv and although they provide Wii remotes and games upon request, we couldn't get them to work. However, since we only stayed one night, these weren't really a big deal.

This was the second stay for my husband and me. The first time we stayed in the chateau, and this time in one of the apartments. The set-up was perfect for our family of 5 traveling together. We had one full bathroom and then one bathroom with double sinks and a tub. We would have gladly traded the tub for another toilet, but we managed fine. The chateau has a warm country feel and is very inviting. The apartment was very clean, but one of the beds (downstairs) was very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. However I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it is the perfect spot to explore Normandy from.

We stayed on the top floor for one night room was large and well decorated. The grounds are lovely and the windows open to enjoy the fresh air; however, there is a railway that borders the property and was quiet busy. With the double paned windows closed it was quiet. Restaurant was not serving the night we were there and nothing is really in walking distance, this is definitely a place to have a car and plenty of parking is available. Breakfast is a bit pricey, but again it's the only option without driving. Nice Eisenhower Monument in the traffic circle just before you turn onto Rue Bellefontaine for the hotel. Big grounds with moat, swans, and duck. Probably very nice in summer.

My wife and I stayed here with our 2 year old son for 1 night on our way to Brittany and loved it. The duplex suite was spacious and clean, with a lovely courtyard at the rear that was a great sun trap. The real treat about this place is the grounds; Henry loved feeding the ducks and swans and watching them swim down the river. A bonus also was the play area with swings and a slide. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which we thought was pretty good value. In the evening we walked the 15 minutes into Bayeux for dinner. A great place for a stopover from Calais - attentive staff and child-friendly.
