“learning a history from the other side”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

so far, our history "lesson" about battle of 1066 got from the saxon's side. pay a visit to battle, rye, pevensey (etc) in england. and we got another by visiting bayeux from the normandie's side. it's a very long tapestry that telling us about king william (guillaume) the conqueror preparing his battle against king harold godwinson. interesting, since we see the pattern of comet in there, daily life etc that comes alive by seeing the tapestry. a great hand-made work.

“see it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

Several people said to me, when they heard I was going to Bayeux, "you have to see the Tapestry". Boy, were they right. Cool. How a King tells his story to an illiterate population--it is a 70 yard long illustrated story book. Get the audio guide.
