“Great hotel in a great city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

My wife and I stated at Hotel Lara for three nights in mod August and really enjoyed it. The owner, Rima, and her daughter Lara, for whom the hotel is named ,are wonderful hosts. They recommended a local restaurant each night and each one was excellent.

The rooms are large, modern and comfortable. Everything works. Parking a car is handy and effortless. I do agree with one reviewer who said it was difficult to locate. Follow the signs for Hotel Churchill.

Bayeux is a fine location form which to see the beaches.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. There are only four.

This hotel is in the middle of everything you may want to see in Bayeux. The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. They have private parking, although not big enough for all customers. The breakfast was good too. I would highly recommend this hotel to everybody.

Friendly, modern with a traditional twist and very clean.
Right in the middle of the town.
Fluent English speaking.
All you can ask for, and more.
A real must.
Daughter and I found it very convenient or visiting the British Wa Grave on edge of town, and the invasion beeches.

A wonderful little hotel, clean and impeccably furnished with outstanding service and delicious breakfasts, situated in the charming little town of Bayeux, France and steps away from the town's magnificent cathedral.

Beautifully designed hotel that is outstanding in most every way. We stayed in a large, top floor room facing the Cathedral and it was incredibly quiet. Gorgeous linens--beautiful furniture.
Gated parking--lovely, helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely-a buffet-Turn Down Service would have been a very special "touch"--and maybe one day they will add this feature. Definitely will recommend!

Background: travelled as couple, stayed 2 nights, booked standard room but upgraded to superior room

Pros: In the small and charming medieval town of Bayeux, we were surprised and delighted to find such a well kept and comfortable hotel.
Staff were friendly and accommodating, we were upgraded upon arrival.
Complimentary private and secure carpark which was extremely useful after a long day's drive.
Room has very big with large living area, well lit and well kept bathroom with decent hotel amenities.
Good view and central location to all main attractions, we also used Bayeux as a base to take a day trip to Mont St Michel - freeway was easily accessible and only an hr and a half drive away

Cons: hard to fault really, I guess no swimming pool or fitness centre available

Overall summary: Whilst not oozing with luxury, considering Bayeux is a small quaint town I wouldn't be surprised if this was the nicest hotel in town. Very comfortable, unbeatable location for sure, clean and overall everything you would want for your stay, would definitely stay here again!
