“Stunning Guest House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Fabulous location and a stunning Guest House. We were made to feel so welcome. Would not hesitate to stay again. Very central location in Bayeux but also ideal for Normandy landings etc. plenty of nice places to eat nearby and car park close to the property

“Warm, welcoming and perfectly located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Le Castel Nobel Guesthouse is a great place from which to explore Normandy. It is right in heart of Bayeux, just minutes from the tapestry and the centre of town, and a very short drive to the British War Cemetery. The welcome was wonderful and every effort was made for us to be comfortable. It really felt like a home away from home, but we still felt that we had privacy. And it was great value too - two nights there cost us less than a night in a dodgy hotel in Paris. Would have no qualms staying here again.

“Nice Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

My husband and I stayed at Le Castel Nobel Guesthouse in early October. We did not have a GPS with us and could not find the B&B. We did find a tourist information center that gave us directions. We found the guesthouse, but it was too early to check in, so we drove around the town. It was raining when we got back to check in. There was a sign on the door to go to another location to check in. I would have throught that if their check in time was 2:30, someone should be there. In the pouring rain we went to the other location to find someone, then came back to the guesthouse. We checked in and told the young man, that when we were at the visitors center, they would not make reservations for us to tour Normandy, but said that the hotel operators would need to do it for us. He seem somewhat iritated with that. Not sure if it was with us, or with the center. He did get a tour for us.

Our room was on the third floor. Spacious size compared to the small one in Paris. The bath was good size and clean also. Very good location. However it wasn't very warm and welcoming. Not allowed to use the front door, no luggage inside, must use the side door. When I travel outside the US I try to learn a few phrases and helpful words in the language of the country I visit. Madame went on and on in French and didn't seem the least interested in saying anything in English....not even Thank you when we checked out.

“Prachtige guesthouse / Splendid guesthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Prachtige guesthouse in originele bouwstijl in Art deco stijl.
Beautiful guesthouse in original architectural style of Art Deco.
Very welcoming hostess, friendly welcome and very willing to share some information about the area and recommended goodrestaurants.Very clean and spacious rooms.
In the center of the city on 2 min walking from the famous tapestry of Bayeux and the Cathedral.
Parking space in front of the guesthouse.

Room Tip: Wij hadden een kamer aan de voorzijde van het gebouw en hadden nergens hinder van.

“Charming Town-home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We had a very nice room with comfortable seating and a tiny turret with windows facing the cathedral. The turret had a chair and a reading lamp in it. Our bathroom had been redone and was very spacious with a lovely stand up shower and a cozy towel warmer. As the weather was rather cool when we were in Bayeux, we made use of it. The one main problem with the room was that there were no drawers in which to put things. I like to be able to take things out of the suitcase when we travel.
The breakfast was a "Continental Breakfast," as advertised but was very adequate, with yogurt and cereal in addition to the bread.
The whole property was extremely clean and well cared for. Madam did not speak English, but had an adorable dog who didn't mind it.
The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the cathedral and the tapestry.
