“Best for Tourists Arriving at Gare de Lille Europe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I booked 1 superior suite for 2 nights in July 2013. I paid about sgd 145/night (incl. taxes, fees, wifi) via hotels.com, just to give you an estimate of the costs. The superior suite came with one double bed and one single bed, fitting a maximum of 3. I believe this is their most basic room.

The location is ideal for those arriving at Gare de Lille Europe which services mainly Eurostar trains coming from both London and Brussels. It is directly opposite the station and makes dropping your luggages easy. The station also houses the internal metro - Gare Lille Europe

The room and toilets were clean and nice. It was spacious and was additionally equipped with a microwave.

However, the only reason why I would hesitate giving it a rating of 4 is because of its service. The hotel seemed to be severely understaffed and every time we requested for something via the phone, we were asked to pick it up from the reception. The staff over the phone had explained that he/she is the only one on duty and hence, cannot leave the reception to deliver whatever we needed.

Overall, if you put the service aside, it is quite a good hotel to consider if you're visiting Lille.

This location offers great value for money! The location is fantastic as it is just opposite the central station if you are arriving by Eurostar or coach. The staff are very welcoming and we really thank Ken at reception for his polite, friendly service and patience for answering all our questions and making recommendations for places to visit/eat etc. Rooms are spacious and clean, lots of space, separate shower/bath and toilet which was nice. Also has coffee/tea making facilties, microwave and fridge. The wifi is super fast and they have 70+ films on demand which was very nice. Rooms have large windows so plenty of natural light. Our only issue was the air conditioning could have been a bit stronger. Breakfast was priced at 14EUR so we did not have any as plenty of cafes outside. Overall a very pleasant stay and great staff.

Large, very clean, well planned room with comfortable bed. Fridge, microwave and safe in room. Good tea/coffee making facilities with snacks in room and more available to buy in lobby. Excellent location and pleasant staff. Air con was quiet and worked well. Only drawback was the toilet which was clean, but could have done with a good glug of bleach.

I usually stay in smaller hotel but after the price was more expensive I chose this based on reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were incredibly friendly, they spoke fantastic English (my French is not up too much!) and nothing was too much trouble. The room was a really good size, complete with a small but perfectly adequate fridge, a microwave and a kettle and not to mention a good choice of teas and coffee.
You were also greeted with a free bottle of mineral water in the fridge every day, and it was lovely and cold. There was also a small selection of cereal bars and dried fruit snacks free everyday.
The bathroom was a generous size with ample storage space for your own toiletries but there was free items if you needed them and I actually used the fizzy bath tablets a few times! There was a bath and a walk in shower, the latter which was amazing!
The bed was comfortable, with ample pillows and a duvet and the room also had air conditioning which was a welcome addition as I was there in the height of summer. We were 7 floors up and when you consider that this hotel is perhaps 30 seconds walk from a major train station, is was extremely quiet. The hotel is also next to a dual carriage way but the quadruple glazing on the windows never lets the noise in. Writing of windows, we had 4 in our room letting in lots of natural light in the day but the blackout blinds did a good job at night.
We had plenty of news channels to chose from in english, but no entertainment channels but this wasn't problem as free movies and music to chose from and an internet enabled tv. We had free wifi too, a godsend as my mobile phone provider had let me down!
I don't really know what else to say about the room other than I'd live there if I could! There was plenty of storage space, a good size desk, plenty of lighting and several power points.
I can't comment on the breakfast because at 14 Euros I thought it was a bit steep, especially when there are so many restaurants and cafes to try.
There are so many things that set this hotel apart from others; the staff, the rooms and the location and the services they offer. It was nice to know that on our last day we could leave our luggage in a safe place and not traipse around Lille with it. I will definitely stay here again and I have recommended it to everyone considering a trip to Lille. I still can't believe the cost of our stay, good value indeed!

Overall a nice hotel. The rooms are not as modern as most Novotel Suites, yet they are adequate, clean and well laid out.
The staff is what makes me rate this as superb. They are welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Every day greeted with smiles. Have gone out of their way to answer questions and ensure my comfort. The staff should be applauded if management reads this!
I was in Lille for 3 weeks on business - previously in Nov 2012 I had stayed at the Novotel Centre (which is ok, but would recommend this one over it). Stayed the first week at the Crowne Plaza next door (see that review...not good!) Moved to the Suite Novotel for the remaining 2 weeks and loved it.
Nice lobby, good for hanging out or work meetings. Coffee, cocktails. A small area to purchase meals - great as there is a microwave and refrigerator in each room.
Small but usable gym. Only a few equipment, but clean and served it's purpose.
Directly across from Lille Gare Europe railway station, and just minutes from Gare de Flanders and the Metro. Shopping close by. Only a 10 minute easy walk into the city centre.
Highly recommend...I will return here on my next trip to Lille!

Trying to get to Paris CDG for a connecting flight on a British school holiday was no fun. We took the Eurostar train to Lille in France to overnight to get a train to CDG in the morning. This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The room was across the street from the train station and the staff was very welcoming. Room was very large with 2 beds, a micro wave and a separate bath room from the toilet. It had a coffee maker. Hotel had a bar but no restaurant. It had a sort of food section where you could select a wide variety of pre made foods that you could heat in the Micro wave. Very pleasant and comfortable. I would stay here again. friendly staff, great location, comfortable rooms. What more can you say.

Room Tip: no special recommendations as all rooms seem to be very good
