“Excellent Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Modern, functional, confortable Hotel in an excellent, quiet, location for exploring the wonderful town of Lille.
Exceptionally friendly, warm and efficient staff. Excellent and good value breakfasts. Free mini-bar of soft drinks and a beer which is most welcome after a day walking about the charming town of Lille.
Fantastic shower!
A thoroughly pleasant and welcoming stay.
Highly recommended for that weekend break.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor overlooking the small square out front.

Stayed in the hotel for one night on route back to Calais from Geneva. Very modern clean room. Nespresso machine in room, only 2 capsules however, very disappointing for two people! Lovely bathroom with huge shower cubicle. Comfy bed, plenty of space all round. Also free mini bar which was well stocked.

Negatives : Parking not good, had to park a 10 minute walk away and the car was packed so felt a little nervous leaving it over night. Also they have a few young men/ boys outside touting for money, basically they see you driving around the hotel looking for parking they stand in a space then ask for money. THe spaces outside the hotel are useless as they are only 1 hour limits.

Positives : Location - very central, lovely room with great amenities.

Excellent welcome then it just got better. They just couldn't do enough for you. Helpful, informative, polite. The room was very tidy, the shower was something else (fantastic), the complimentary bar was refreshed daily, the bed very restful and breakfast was more than adequate.
Parking was the only bug bare, but even then we were lucky and got a spot just outside the hotels front doors.

Room Tip: Just be specific when booking.

We had two nights stay at this lovely hotel the rooms were fab especially the shower, the free mini bar was a good bonus it was refilled the next day as well, the staff were very helpfully especially Sebastian who spoke good English and recommended the restaurant that we ate in on the Sunday night, Lille itself is a lovely place to visit lots of shops to look in ,would decently go back.

Pros: The location is perfect for a weekend away - close to the shops, close to the other sights. The rooms were rather luxurious in my opinion, and plenty big for 2. Granted, there isn't much room other than the bed to sit. The breakfast was what I expected - your basic bread/meat/spreads/eggs/yoghurt/etc. with the added plus that it's open so late!

Cons: We had some difficulty finding the hotel (by car), and as a result spent about 20 minutes driving around. My only other complaint would be the parking, but as soon as you know where to go, it's not a big deal (about 5 min walk).

Would definitely recommend Lille for a weekend away, and would stay at the Best Western Premier Why Hotel again

We booked this hotel at the beginning of the year for a weekend away with friends and since booking the reviews have just got better and better.
We had high expectations of this hotel and we were not disappointed. We arrived slightly later than planned and were greeted by the friendly reception staff. We checked in, were allocated our rooms and the receptionist explained that we had a complimentary mini bar with tea and coffee in our room and free wifi. When we got to the rooms they were beautiful and very well furnished & looked incredibly comfy. The bathroom was slightly on the small side but the shower more than made up for the size of the bathroom. The shower had a large overhead water jet as well as a hand held one if not wanting to get your hair wet which I loved as it had 4 settings that really massaged your skin. We had a slight problem with the airconditioning in our room on the first night which unfortunately wasn't resolved. However in the morning we spoke to the manager who had been given the handover by the night manager and the problem was resolved quickly and effeciently so our second night was very comfy - thank you!!
The bed was one of the comfiest I have stayed in for a long time in a hotel and I loved the fact that they had L'occitane toiletries in the room, very nice!

We stayed in room 506 and would recommend this room as it's high enough up not to attract street noise and it's on the front of the hotel which is slightly quieter.

Our friends stayed in room 501 which was also beautiful although their room had a bath with an over the bath shower. Being vertically challenged I was very glad not to have been in that room as the step into the bath was probably between 2ft 6" & 3ft which I would've found impossible to get into.

We didn't actually have breakfast at the hotel on either day although it did look very good.

The hotel is ideally located for shopping and sightseeing and having seen a number of hotels in our travels over the weekend, we definitely stayed in the best hotel in Lille.

We would certainly stay here again as the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would thorougly recommend.

Room Tip: Room 506 was very comfy and the ones overlooking the front of the hotel are slightly quieter.

Couldn't have picked a better hotel if I tried. Fantastic rooms equally matched by location. Only stayed 1 night but really could have spent all the time just in the hotel our room was so good!! I had booked quad room even though there was only two of us as I had read that rooms were small. I am not sure if this is the case but even if it is it doesn't matter because the rooms and showers are great. If I had to critise it would be that the dining area is small and so it was a little cramped at breakfast. it didn't matter though because location meant that we could pop across to another cafe for breakfast instead.
