“C'est magnifique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

We booked this hotel at the beginning of the year for a weekend away with friends and since booking the reviews have just got better and better.
We had high expectations of this hotel and we were not disappointed. We arrived slightly later than planned and were greeted by the friendly reception staff. We checked in, were allocated our rooms and the receptionist explained that we had a complimentary mini bar with tea and coffee in our room and free wifi. When we got to the rooms they were beautiful and very well furnished & looked incredibly comfy. The bathroom was slightly on the small side but the shower more than made up for the size of the bathroom. The shower had a large overhead water jet as well as a hand held one if not wanting to get your hair wet which I loved as it had 4 settings that really massaged your skin. We had a slight problem with the airconditioning in our room on the first night which unfortunately wasn't resolved. However in the morning we spoke to the manager who had been given the handover by the night manager and the problem was resolved quickly and effeciently so our second night was very comfy - thank you!!
The bed was one of the comfiest I have stayed in for a long time in a hotel and I loved the fact that they had L'occitane toiletries in the room, very nice!

We stayed in room 506 and would recommend this room as it's high enough up not to attract street noise and it's on the front of the hotel which is slightly quieter.

Our friends stayed in room 501 which was also beautiful although their room had a bath with an over the bath shower. Being vertically challenged I was very glad not to have been in that room as the step into the bath was probably between 2ft 6" & 3ft which I would've found impossible to get into.

We didn't actually have breakfast at the hotel on either day although it did look very good.

The hotel is ideally located for shopping and sightseeing and having seen a number of hotels in our travels over the weekend, we definitely stayed in the best hotel in Lille.

We would certainly stay here again as the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would thorougly recommend.

Room Tip: Room 506 was very comfy and the ones overlooking the front of the hotel are slightly quieter.

Couldn't have picked a better hotel if I tried. Fantastic rooms equally matched by location. Only stayed 1 night but really could have spent all the time just in the hotel our room was so good!! I had booked quad room even though there was only two of us as I had read that rooms were small. I am not sure if this is the case but even if it is it doesn't matter because the rooms and showers are great. If I had to critise it would be that the dining area is small and so it was a little cramped at breakfast. it didn't matter though because location meant that we could pop across to another cafe for breakfast instead.

I stayed in this hotel by accident but what a great decision it turned out to be. We were booked into the Best Western Bellevue just around the corner but cancelled the booking as it was awful! This one though was superb. Very friendly, helpful and polite staff and very clean and modern. The room even includes a complimentary mini-bar! It is in a great location for all of the bars, restaurants and shops. It's hard to believe that this great hotel is owned by the same chain as the Bellevue around the corner!

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-March as part of a Eurostar package. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to shops, bars and restaurants. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and well equipped with the added bonuses of complimentary beers and soft drinks in the fridge and unlimited, free Wifi. At breakfast, there was a good selection of food - both hot and cold. Our only gripes were that the tables are incredibly small and we struggled to find space to put two cups of tea and two plates on the table. The staff members at breakfast don't clear the plates until you have left which made the space even more limited. However, these are minor grumbles and overall we would thoroughly recommend.

super hotel. Great staff. Fantastic styling. Situated almost in the city center. Nice lounge bar. Very good breakfast. Price - quality is ok. Rooms are very clean and good. Only minus: not enough parking space for such a hotel.

Dearest Guest,

Thank you for taking time to write this review and thank you for your kind marks.
Much appreciated.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us.

Parking wise, we have gone up to 8 spaces available in our car park, right next to the hotel but, as for the rooms, we would advise to book early to avoid disappointment!

Thanks again for staying with us.

Best regards,

Pierre and the Team.

This hotel was fab,you could see it had been newly renovated, the decor was very trendy with very bright colours a nice change from other hotels.
At first we thought the hotel was a bit out of the centre, but after exploring it was a great location, near to the 2 main squares, but far away from the noise.
The bedroom was spacious and light, the bathroom was large with a fab shower - wish i had one at home!!
Staff were very helpful.
Great hotel with nice touches of complimentary bar and sweets. Would recommend to all my friends and family. Well done Best Western.

Room Tip: we asked for a room on the higher floors and got the corner room on the 5th which was great

We stayed here for a night on a weekend Eurostar break. Our only small problem was getting lost trying to find it! Once we were there we realised how close it is to the Grand Place, only 5 mins walk. If you aren't sure, I would say walk to the Grand Place, then look for the tourist info centre,(Palace Rihours) and it is 2 mins walk past there. The bus tour from the tourist info centre is worth doing too.

We were greeted warmly in French by the lovely receptionist. She was very tolerant of my rusty French, and also spoke English when we needed her to. We were offered a map and she showed us some places to see. She also pro-actively told us that we could leave our case with them on the 2nd day until we left. Of course, most hotels do this but it was nice that we didn't even have to ask.

Our room was fantastic, stylish and comfortable. We loved all the windows, they made the room so light and airy. The free mini bar is a nice touch and offered 3 soft drinks, and 2 small beers.

My only criticism, and this really is the only thing, is that the room took a long time to warm up. We turned the air con to 30 degrees (maximum) and it still took a couple of hours before it felt warm. So, turn the heating up sooner rather than later if you feel cold!

The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, anywhere. It was like sleeping on a cloud. And the pillows were lovely, I often find the soft feather pillows you get in hotels way too soft, but these weren't. We really didn't want to get up!

The shower is huge, and the toiletries a real treat, L'Occitane, they smell heavenly.

We decided to have breakfast in the hotel, and were very glad we did. There was plenty to choose from, hot and cold. Bread to die for, and soft croissants. No-one does them like the French! Really good coffee too. Well worth the money.

If you are visiting Lille, I would say don't hesitate to book this hotel, it is excellent, and we will definitely be back. We would also recommend a little restaurant 10 mins walk away- La Tete de Boeuf.
