“Total Surprise Packet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2010

So it says 2 star on the listing, but for this Hotel that means little. No fuss, basic amenities but - spotless inside the room, Continental Breakfast adequate and better than some larger hotels we have used. Reception staff polite and helpful, but most of all its location is brilliant. We travelled Eurostar from London, walked off the train, through the station entrance and within 3 minutes were outside the Hotel. Front rooms overlook the main road, the rear rooms look onto the walls or roof of the Shopping Complex Building of which the Hotel is a part so don't expect lakes and mountains, but for a short stay - business or pleasure - it is totally adequate. Full size bathroom and the usual digital TV with BBC World as standard and free Wifi it is ideal for a short City break and the Flanders Rail Station is on the other side of the entrance which links to the main Rail, Metro and tram network around the city and beyond into France or Belgium - in fact the city seems more like the latter than its national origins. Plenty of good eating, Great Opera House, Excellent Botanical Gardens and just a 2Euro tram or Metro ride to the interesting Piscine Museum in Roubaix. As stated, forget the 2 star description, just enjoy the stay, the location - but most of all, the price.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2010

I read the favorable reviews and booked this hotel-- however, no where did anyone mention (other guests or the hotel) that there is NO AC here. I am here now and am dying!!! My window doesn't open very much but I have no choice. It is not terribly loud but I can hear the traffic below. :(

Bring your own shampoo...small lttle packets only. full bath. Small tv, Somewhat low light.

I paid $$92 including taxes for a room w a double bed but I am unsure if breakfast is included or a separate fee.

Recommeded if you just need a place to stay but I recommend you stay here in every season EXCEPT Summer.

Yes, free internet but for me the wired way did not work but the wireless is great! reliable and very very fast.

You couldn't wish for a better location as far as transfer from the Eurostar Rail station goes. It is literally a couple of minute's walk. Also next to Euralille shopping centre, with a huge Carrefour.
The rooms were basic but clean. The service from reception was excellent with friendly English speaking staff. Breakfast was the usual continental style.
For what we payed through Super Break, it was very good value.
One tip if you are going on a 3 for 2 nights like we did: Get all your souvenirs on Saturday. Lille seems to be closed on Sunday (except the Sunday markets), and is only partly open on Monday. We ended up getting some souvenirs at Carrefour (not that there was anything wrong with that I hasten to add).

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2010

This hotel deserves a rare 5 stars from me. The location is very convenient, between the Lille railway stations and within easy reach of all the sights. Reception staff were very helpful and spoke reasonable English and were happy to help with extra requests, such as to use the printer and Internet in the hotel business centre. LIke the rest of the hotel, our room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including a full-sized bath. All rooms have a wired Internet connection, so your device will need an Ethernet port to make use of it. The only deficiency in the room was that it lacked enough drawer space.
By French standards, breakfast was more than adequate, with cereal, cheese, cold meats, bread and pastries and quite acceptable coffee.

Very easy and convenient hotel right next to the eurostar and the shopping centre.
Hotel is a pretty basic 2 star but rooms are clean and breakfast good.

Free internet access throughout the hotel. We enjoyed lille for a couple of days, especially the market and the shopping, Christmas market was a little disappointing compared to german markets but festive and put you in the mood. Would recommend no more than 2/3 nights in lille as not too many sights.

Well priced. Good location. Clean. Helpful staff. More than adequate breakfast. Room smokey though which detracted a lot unfortunately.

We stayed here as as part of a weekend break. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the rooms are functional with TV (French only) and a small refigerator. Breakfast is continental, help yourself as to as much as you want as far as I could see. Croissants, chocolate croissants, hard-boiled eggs, ham, cheese, and bread. Juices, tea and coffee toast and jam.

The hotel is perfectly positioned being a few minutes walk from Euro-Lille station. No roads to cross. When you arrive at Lille Euro station just imagine standing with your back to the railway lines and there is a wide open space in front with Euro-Lille shopping centre in front of you. The hotel is along there.

It is also well-positioned for the town centre; metro, virtually outside the door and a superb pub (Trois Brasseurs) which has its own micro-brewery. I recommend the Ambree!

They have a luggage room, so we left our luggage there as we went to do some last minute shopping.
