They were very polite and spoke enough English so we understood what we were getting and what there was to drink etc. It was a very nice restaurant and the food was amazing!

“un resto a decouvrir sur une place de marche multi ethnique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2012

I often visit Lille for a day trip . I discover the place du marche in the Wazemmes area of Lille and this is a place to discover . You have the traditional market square with its church , its market hall and fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants around with a multi ethnicity that represent now all town. Amongs the restaurant is Tiparothai I The first part of the restaurant is dedicated to take away and to be honest it look a bit messy , but at the back is the restaurant room and the place feel so balance and restful that you feel you want to stay there for longer than your meal
I opted for "assiette de friture" a starter with one nem , one samossa and one aumoniere and it was wonderfully tasty . For main dish I choose beef red curry . The portion was generous and very fragrant and well presented. I paid 20 euros but i could have chosen the formule repas for 14.90. I went there 3 times already and would never been disapointed. The restaurant is close sunday evening and monday all day .
If you still feel hungry you can walk to the numerous patisserie round the corner and choose one of the wonderful French patisserie, or you can have a cafe on the square in the various bistrot around the place.
