We spotted this restaurant when walking through old Lille and resolved to visit it that evening. We were not disappointed but pleased that we turned up early. All evening people who arrived after 19.30h were being turned away. We were not surprised - the food was terrific, with lots of local dishes. We started with lamb's brains on toast, followed by steak tartare, complete with raw egg. Mmmm ... The service was excellent, relaxed but efficient. The wine list was good, too. We were intrigued by the location - a small courtyard which contains two restaurants, each with outside and inside eating area - you walk through the terrace of Les Companions to the other. However, during the entire evening, no one walked through to eat at the other restaurant, even tho' there were no places at Les Companions. Maybe next time we'll try the other one - but it would have to be bloody good to beat this!
