“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

We stayed 5 nights, 3 at the beginning of our trip and 2 at the end, as we flew in and out of Toulouse. On our arrival, far too early on a wet morning (2 AM our time), we were warmly greeted, given coffee and fresh bread (and lait au sirop for our son), and generally made to feel completely welcome. With the ongoing rain, our hosts let us use their living room for several hours putting together one of our bicycles - much appreciated! Every breakfast was marvellous, including one at 6:30 am before our departure for the airport, and we appreciated having a kitchenette in the suite for a simple meal one or 2 nights. The room, pool, and grounds were all lovely. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

We arrived in Toulouse not really knowing what was available to see. Bernard gave us excellent advice on what to see and do. We mentioned we wanted to go on the Airbus Factory Tour and he organised our booking for us. Bernard speaks excellent English which was a boon as neither my husband nor I speak French. All in all, Villa Danieli is an excellent bed and breakfast and I would recommend it to anyone.

We (family / 3 persons) stayed for one week at Villa Danieli. It's an excellent B&B and a perfect place to discover Toulouse. We had a spacious suite (Victoria suite), which we liked very much.
Service by the owners (Bernard and Daniele) is very good, with a personal touch. Great breakfast. The B&B is located in a quiet area and has its own private parking.
Nearby (ca. 100 metres) is metro-station Roseraie. The metro brings you within a few minutes to the centre of Toulouse. We can recommend this B&B for everyone who visits Toulouse and appreciates a warm and personal stay.

We stayed at this Bed and Breakfast for two nights in late January this year.

Staying at Villa Danieli was a highlight of our 6 week trip to Europe and the United States.

We threw Daniele and Bernard a bit of a curved ball as I had managed to break my foot before our arrival. This meant that when Bernard kindly met us at the airport, we had even more luggage (with a wheelchair and crutches and I was in a moonboot). Bernard fitted it all into his car with loads of kindness and no fuss, and he and Daniele, went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely time in Toulouse. This included their offering to drive us around Toulouse.

On our last day after we had ‘checked out’, they suggested we leave all our luggage at their home so we could see more sights in Toulouse, provided us with tea/coffee in the afternoon and gave us some great books to read, before Daniele took us to the railway station where we were taking the TGV late afternoon/early evening. Daniele even wheeled some of our luggage (the trickiest part – the wheelchair), navigated where to go, helped us with all our luggage up the steep steps at the railway station, and went up to the TGV conductor and spoke to him in French to ensure we would be looked after on our trip to Bordeaux. We could not have done it without her.

Throughout out time with Daniele and Bernard, they went out of their way to ensure our holiday in Toulouse was a delightful one. Daniele has a huge number of maps of Toulouse (many from the Tourist Information Centre). She asked us about our interests, and then marked on the maps places of interest and suggested itineraries for us, and gave us the maps to take with us.

Their home is in a great location, just a few metres from a metro stop. We found the metro and train system in Toulouse excellent and very reasonably priced, and in a few minutes on the metro we would be wherever we wanted to be in the city. We loved the architecture of their home, French art deco, and they have renovated it beautifully. The garden is large, planted with lots of natives, and with birds – we felt as though we were in the country, when we were minutes from inner city. If we had had a car, I think we could have parked it within their section.

Breakfasts were served at a round table overlooking their pond and garden. Very relaxing. We enjoyed the vast selection of homemade jams, daily breads, toasted brioche, arrays of yoghurt, freshly brewed coffee, fresh orange juice, local delicacies…. We felt like very good friends and treasured guests throughout our time. They went out of their way to share their knowledge of the area, and what it was like to live in France, current issues, way of life. It was all exactly the kind of experience we were wanting from a Bed and Breakfast.

The room we stayed in was Sukhothai. This has a kitchenette. It is spacious with quality fittings. The bathroom is cleverly designed, and it is all modern but in keeping with the art deco style. An excellent shower. We ate out the Sunday night, and the second day we had a great time selecting local Toulouse and Alsace Lorraine fabulous cheeses, breads, salads, terrines, baked foods and other produce which we prepared in our kitchen (which had ample plates, glasses, cutlery etc.), and relaxed in front of the wide screen television. We especially appreciated this as it was winter, and we loved being able to relax in such lovely surroundings – the room is even better than the pictures on their website. In the middle of winter it was sunny and toasty warm. The room had a ‘be in me’ feeling. Daniele and Bernard also made it clear the rest of their home was our home – they made us feel so welcome.

They have lived throughout the world for work, and this meant they could relate to us from New Zealand (they have lived in Auckland). They have spent much time in Asia and many other places, and we felt they could instantly establish a rapport with anyone.

We went to a superb place for lunch on the Tuesday, Chez Emile, recommended by Daniele.
The only downside was we were in Toulouse on a Sunday and Monday. We discovered most of Toulouse shuts down on Sundays and it does not really re-open until Monday afternoon. Another time we would be there for a longer time and over other days of the week.

The location quickly connected to the heart of the city and so peaceful is really perfect, but as we do, you will find out more and more...
You will find a house fully and nicely renovated, spacious rooms and suites, high level of comfort, high quality equipments, top bedding and linens...Everywhere, in every corner, top cleanness.
We have been there in January, so had pleasure with the pool, the terrace, the garden, only for our eyes...which was anyway not negligible, and let us imagine more over when coming in at summertime.
The breakfast has also been a special pleasure, looking to the garden through the nice bow-window, with a lot of tasty items on the round table, that was the moment for sharing the best conviviality with Daniele and Bernard, a very good time with very nice and authentic people who had learnt a lot of humanities, spending a large part of their life all over the world.
For Tripadvisor's members who recommend us to go...Of course and premium as a feedback for Daniele and Bernard, we have to write down these true comments...Even if, as you may understand, there might be some crazy temptation to keep such an address as a secret for our own...!

We stayed two nights in October 2011 but would have been happy to stay longer.
We had a car and parking was plentiful, but it was also easily accessible by train (~100m from a station) which was also useful for getting into the city centre (two stops away).
Our room was clean, modern, reasonably spacious and very comfortable.
Breakfast was both delicious and generous, with fresh breads, pastries, cereal, yoghurt and fruit (and amazing apple compote!), served in a bay window with lovely views of the garden - had weather permitted, it would have been served in the garden.
A lounge was available for guest use and wifi was also provided.
Daniele and Bernard were most welcoming and friendly, with excellent recommendations for eating nearby. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very gracious and helpful. It seemed like a long way from town, but it is only a few hundred feet from the Metro, which runs very often so it's easy to get around town. There is also a good bakery nearby, an ATM, and a well stocked wine store.

Rooms were very attractive and clean. Only drawback was the lack of fans to cool things down at night. We did get a fan for the last of our three nights, but I think it was their only one.
