“Nice food, pity the staff and service at dinner didn't match it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

We were recommended to this restaurant by the hotel we were staying in. We had dinner there and lunch a couple of days later. The comment on the staff and service did not apply to the lunch where we were very well looked after.
We were taken to our table inside which was fine. After some time the waiter arrived and asked if we wanted an aperitiv, since our response was only a glass of wine while we studied the menu we were instantly 'downgraded'. We ate from the fixed price menu at 34 Euros. Two different salads were large and enjoyable. The lamb shank with bulgur wheat and vegetables and the Bar fish were both good and tasty. The Cafe Gourmand dessert was chosen by one of us and again was a nice mix of small portions of house desserts and a coffee.
The food was good and we did return a couple of days later for lunch which was good value and quality, and this time with service to match.

“Good food in a pleasant atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013 via mobile

Monsieur Georges is situated in the heart of the old city in a nice old building. The restaurant is organised on four floors, each with their own character. We had a table in the "library", which was just fine with us. The menu offers a limited but interesting choice of terroir based dishes and the wine list has enough good local wines to make a nice pairing with the food. Our waiter was very new and struggling, but the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We had a nice meal that offered very decent value for money. A fine address for good eating that won't break the bank. It is very busy, reserve in advance.

“Clean, nice decor, average food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Very clean and new restaurant, and good for taking large groups in terms of space. There were 10 of us many of us were late, but the restaurant didn’t complain. We all ordered at the same time, nearly all of us had starter, main and dessert, the menu for 34euros. The starters arrived together, however I had eaten half of my main course by the time the last person got his plate which was not very impressive.

The menu choices are not the same as what is on the internet, and on several occasions we ordered something which they had none left of – they really should have told us this before ordering, as it resulted in many disappointments.
For starter I had the scallops which were good, followed by the filet de veau, which was also fine, but nothing special. The other dishes looked ok, but nothing extraordinary.
Dessert was also a bit disappointing, I had profiteroles, which were too big, with too much sauce. I just ate one and shared with two other people. Someone had ordered a chocolate and banana cake which had no chocolate, and a crème brulée with green tea, which didn’t taste of green tea! The wine choice was good though!
All in all, quite average, I probably wouldn’t go there again – however location is nice, I bet it’s good in the summer!

“Yum!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

4 of us had an outstanding meal at this great restaurant. We sat outside, under the trees in the square, and we're served by extremely helpful and friendly, English speaking staff. We chose the 3 course meal as it seemed very good value for money. I cannot fault any of the dishes that came out. The presentation was amazing and the food was delicious. I had a platter of meats to start and then the fish of the day which was the tastiest tuna I have ever had. The desert was an amazing chocolate concoction. I was so full and happy after eating here and would rate it as one of my top dining experiences.

“By george, i think they've got it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Situated right on la Place Saint-Georges, this restaurant never fails to please. Whether tucked away inside on the 1st floor close to the window overlooking la Place in winter or under the shade of one of the many trees outside, this is the place to eat good food, drink an excellent bottle of local wine and watch the world go by. Just wonderful, and don't forget to check out there café gourmand. It's worth that little extra.
