“best of a dubious bunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Rocanadour is of course a wonderful place but not known for its value or gastronomic pleasures. This cafe style bistro serves decent cafe food - croque amadours (sic), salads, confit duck etc. No major culinary amazement but reasonably priced - try and get a table on the terrace

“this is a fair restaurant in a tourist trap: what do you expect?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

It is not Rocamadour's fault that it is actually a really special place and very much worth the visit. And it is not its fault that it is full of tourist tat (goes with the territory). So that being said, we went to Envies which is one of about 15 "restaurants" on the main street. This is not Paris, this is a town that has to make its money with the tourist ebb and flow. So, I would not necessarily come here to eat of an evening where the food alone is the focus. But I would come here if I was in Rocamadour and needed a bite to eat. I cant say that either of our salads rocked our taste buds but then we had limited expectations given the environs and they were not exceeded (under or over).

“Wonderful Food, Wonderful Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011

We had lunch at Envies de Terroir and we were not dissapointed. The first thing that made our visit comfortable was that the waiter spoke impeccable English and was more than happy to explain the menu. We didn't feel rushed or foolish. Once we had made our selection the meal came in very good time and both meals were ample and well prepared. We sat on the terrace and even though we chose a large table for just two people, this was not an issue and made the meal very pleasant.
