“a peaceful place to frame a wonderful experience - incredibly ok!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

not far from the sanctuary. very clean. kind people at the reception. large rooms. wide tv/lcd screen with italian, french, spanish and international channels. air conditioner in the room. FREE wi-fi in rooms. overall quite environment. breakfast NOT included (9,50 euros per person),....very good italian expresso, though (I'm italian!).
parking is NOT included (fee: 8 euros per day in a covered private garage) but there is a free open parking area in front (just few meters to the right side) of the hotel.
definitely a place to go back and recommend to everyone.
excellent hotel above published rating!

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel during the holy week and overall was satisfied with this hotel. The staff were very helpful and they provided us free wi-fi access. The location is good, within 15 minutes walk to the Grotto and on the way to/from the grotto you can find several cafes and restaurants. The city bus also stops just in front of the hotel. Just one complain was you can hear the noise from the room on top of our floor (6th floor).

If you love to eat paella, I recommend to eat at Paellador in La Solitude hotel as it is the best compared to the other restaurant offering paella. Avoid the restaurant beside Paellador as the food has no taste at all. Imagine a steak in which they will give you a Pad Thai sauce. Besides they put Wi-fi in front of the restaurant and when I ask the waiter, he said they don't have wi-fi.

Wife and I stayed here for 3 nights early September. Great location, quiet and about 10-15 minutes easy stroll from the Grotto. Our room which overlooked the Garve(?) River was clean and comfortable which all you need considering we were out most of the time. Being a little away from the central area meant almost no traffic noise and certainly none from within the hotel. Hotel facilities were good with restaurant, bar, shop (mainly souvenirs) and internet facilities. We were on full board set menu and couldn't fault the food or service. Lunch and dinner always soup, appetiser, main course then dessert. Food was well cooked and very generous portions. So much so that we had to skip a lunch to give ourselves a rest! Hotel reception staff were very helpful and all staff spoke English).
If we return to Lourdes would definitely stay here again

We recently made a trip to SW France and spent 2 great days in Lourdes staying at the Hotel Alba. We had picked this hotel from Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel not only looks good from the outside but was a great place to stay. The public rooms were spacious, the bedrooms clean and well appointed and the staff very friendly and helpful.

This newly renovated hotel offers excellent value for money with an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff at reception, restaurant, bar, shop and throughout the hotel. Our rooom overlooking the river was very clean and comfortable, with the added advantage of having Sky, BBC and ITV television channels. The restaurant offers both a very good set menu as well as a wide a la carte range (my wife particularly liked the king prawns and the sorbet dessert). The service is excellent. The hotel is located in a quiet area just a short distance from the Grotto affording a pleasant walk along the river bank. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to both groups and independent vistors (such as ourselves).

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the river have a particulaly nice view.

This is a very basic hotel, the reception and staff are pleasant however the room was very dated and not very child friendly. The separate toilet and bathroom make it very tight for space ,the furniture was very dated and rather awful, the fittings were dated and shabby, the beds were soft and uncomfortable. There was no information about the hotel in the room at all, the meal times were tight to say the least, an hour and half for dinner and breakfast. The food on the half board menu was not great and had we stayed for more than one night I would have eaten elsewhere. The plus points were that it was pretty clean and we managed to get a good deal on the room. In would have been very disappointed if we had paid the hotels full rate. The room was supposed to be wheelchair accessible however we could not get my daughters chair past the bathroom and into the room!

We spent four nights in the Alba hotel in Lourdes in May 2011 and were in room 412, which looked onto the river, a beautiful view. The room had a separate bathroom and toilet and two single beds, which were comfortable. There was soap and shampoo in the bathroom.
There was a large flat screen television, as it was very thin it could have been LED, and there were quite a few English channels and a very good picture.
The food was quite good, if plain, and we were on full board. Breakfast consisted of cereals, Ham, Cheese, Rolls, Tea and as I am a coffee drinker a reasonable coffee on offer. Lunch and dinner consisted of four courses, two starters, a main course and dessert. Drinks were extra as was coffee or tea. The food was of a good quality and you won't go hungry.
The nature of the town dictated it was quiet at night so no noise problems.
The staff were quite helpful and seemed happy in their work.
If you are going to Lourdes I would recommend this hotel as one to consider.

Room Tip: Clean, Good Food, Quiet
