“Casual, Family-style, honest, well prepared and served food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

I've eaten at this restaurant many times over the past 10+ years, as recently as the summer of 2012. It is my favorite "casual" restaurant in Cahors. The food is always excellent in taste, preparation and presentation, served by the quirky host (sometimes with a thumb in the soup bowl...). The wines are drinkable without pretense and integral to the meal. Make sure to note the ancient (180 years old in 2012) Wisteria covering the veranda, growing from a crack in the stone along the adjoining building. The vine is worth a trip in itself!
If you get to Cahors, don't miss an opportunity to enjoy a meal here.

“Great atmosphere, good simple food, good laugh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

Enjoyed lunch in this very local restaurant, served by the proprieter who was a bit of a character. Soup from tureen, followed by big slice of ham terrine with local sausage and gerkin as a starter and beef and veg (duck was the alternative) for main course. Cheeseboard (excellent) to follow and a choice of cold desserts and coffee. All this washed down with a bottle of mineral water and vin rouge and all for the price Eur39 for two. The tables are on a terrace overlooking the river under the shade of an enormous wisteria. Definitely recommend you give this restaurant a try if you're in Cahors. Great lunch experience.

“Great food, good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

We had a great meal here, dont be put off by the fact that there is only one sitting and little choice. The food is excellent and comes in large helpings. It is clean and delicious - we found it a welcome break from the rich 'French-on-show' menus you find in other restaurants. Good wine. Fabuluous value altogether.

“Much better than it looks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I had lunch at this family restaurant, although we nearly missed it: you have to go upstairs by the sign.

There is one menu, with choices if entree, plat, and dessert. But first we had a delicious soup, and before dessert we had a cheese selection.

Rough and ready, but delicious!

We highly recommend it, even if you are looking for gourmet!

“Very enjoyable place for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

We had a very nice lunch here. Service was very good and food was well prepared and nicely presented. The entrance to the restaurant is covered with wisteria. The interior is simple, with ochre colored walls and a lot of natural light.
