My husband and I had an excellent stay here. In fact, when we first arrived we were so happy with the check-in experience and the room that we extended our stay by another day!

The rooms are decorated in a wonderfully stylish combination of sleek modern and antique. Our walls were deep purple and a print of Audrey Hepburn hung over the bed. The room was not large, but there was enough space for a desk and an extra chair and we spent a couple happy evenings just hanging out in the room. Astonishingly for the price, the room had a flat screen TV, wireless internet access, air conditioning and a mini-bar!

Breakfast was simple but good, served in a lovely, homey dining room with classical music playing. The reception area is also very welcoming, with a big bookshelf (including lots of English-language books to borrow), comfy couch, and antique suitcases piled in a picturesque stack next to the desk.

One of the owners speaks excellent English (we suspected him of being Dutch) and was a fount of information; the other speaks less English but still more than enough to communicate with us. Both of them were friendly and efficient.

Location is good - just far enough out of the Old Town to be quiet, but still only a short walk away. The hotel doesn't have its own parking, but we were able to park on the street for 30 minutes (or thereabouts) while unloading, then move the car to a public parking lot only a half-block away.

We loved Albi and if we return one day we would definitely stay again at the Hotel Les Pasteliers.

I am writing this review at the hotel on the last day of a most enjoyable fourteen night stay

Firstly, a few words about Albi. It is an elegant, tranquil city, lots of historical interest and plenty to do. We found many excellent restaurants, with our favourite being le Clos de St. Cecile, tucked away around the back of the Cathedral. The surrounding area is beautiful and we have visited Gaillac, Lisle sur Tarn and Cordes sur Ciel, all of which were well worth seeing

Albi itself is quite a quiet place, not overrun by tourists and not a lot of English is spoken, which was excellent for us, as it gave us plenty of opportunity to practice our rudimentary French! The local people are friendly, helpful and courteous

Turning to the hotel, the owners, Jean Claude and Patrick could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend them highly. They have a friendly little dog called Saxo, who likes to greet guests at breakfast, without getting in the way ... The breakfast area is very pleasant, the food and choice were excellent and the classical music playing in the background all makes for an agreeable start to the day. The hotel is very clean and the maid service was very good. Whatever time we came down for breakfast, the room was always immaculate on our return!

We had a room with a terrace, which we used a lot as the weather has been great in the main. The room itself was on the small side and a little awkwardly arranged, but apparently all rooms are different, so it may not be a problem for everyone

The hotel is old and quirky, which we liked, but it can be a bit noisy at night, not because of the guests, but due to the construction of the building and the flooring. However, on the positive side, it is only a five minute walk from the City centre

If there is one thing we would have liked, it would have been a bar type area for guests to use in the evenings to compare notes etc. As it was, the only opportunity to talk to other guests was at breakfast, because apart from the restaurants in town, Albi is quiet after 22:00

Would we recommend the hotel? Yes. Would we recommend Albi? Yes

Will add some photos when we arrive home

We stayed in this Hotel for 3 nights. The Hotel is very clean and calm and just 5-10 min away from the historic city center. Great bargain here.

Lovely place run by a very friendly couple. My room is nicely decorated, the bathroom is a bit tight in space but very clean. The room has a nice little terrace. Don't forget to ask for restaurants recommendation - you can't go wrong with their suggestion.

Highly recommend this place.

When researching hotels for Albi, I didn't find a lot of options. Reviews for this property made me feel I found an ideal spot. It was definitely a nice place and inexpensive. I opted out of the 7 or 8 euro breakfast, although I heard good reviews. The reception and salon are well decorated so that you feel like you are walking into someone's home. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful (Patrick and another guy). As Albi is a walking village, they have plenty of photocopied maps that they whip out and draw on for you to find where you want to go. Next door is a great Moroccon restaurant where we dined one night. Despite us being the only two having dinner, the tangines were perfect (lamb and lemon chicken, I recommend). Just down the street is a movie theater. Sometimes they have shows in their original language so we caught a British film in English in the very comfortable theater. (But skip the popcorn.)
The room had a nautical theme and was very well decorated. It was simple but had free wi-fi, flat screen cable TV, shower, little frig. Very comfortable. We were in walking distance to the bus to take us to Cordes sur Ciel, which is a lovely medieval village perfect for a day trip. And we were not too far from Albi's charming center where we visited the Toulouse Lautrec museum and the massive church. There may have been other hotels closer to the center, but all in all I was not disappointed staying here. We even walked to the train station, which was a fairly simple 15 min walk once we had proper directions.
