“Would rate good if an option”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Nice location, near cathedral in old part of town.
Owner very personable and great at explaining menu.
Food well priced and reasonable, if not quite as good as chef thinks.
Having said that worth a visit.

“Really inventive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2012

We have had a really nice dinner!
Cooker is inventive and generous (on portion) we had a starter and the beef and it was really too much for me :) but so delicious!
Sauces were the point, it was wierd to see 3 sauces with a piece of meat but in fact they were so nicely associated... a touch of magic!

“Best meal I had in France and I had many excellent meals during a 2 week vacation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

We found out about this restaurant from a very friendly old local woman. When we asked where we should eat, she said there is only 1 restaurant she would recommend. She said go to Le Papillon, it is owned by Americans but is fantastic.

We went and the chef cooked my wife a special meal because she is lactose intolerant. Both our meals were amazing and then as a special treat they made a work of art with the presentation.

I was in Southern France for 2 weeks and this was our favorite meal.

Since we stayed at the restaurant until most of the guests had left, the chef (owner) walked us most of the way back to our hotel pointing out highlights along the way.

I have dined at many fine restaurants around the world and this place is probably my most favorite dining experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you

“The food was very good, and they made a special dish for our vegetarian daughter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

A lovely restaurant that was recommended to us. The food was very good, and they made a special dish for our vegetarian daughter, although this came a little later while everyone else had half eaten their main course. This may be that there were 16 of us and I guess quite a small kitchen. All in all I would totally recommend this place.

“A real gem in a beautiful city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2011

Not much to add to other reviewers. The food is excellent, with great value lunches. Michael the chef always finds time to chat to his customers and even pointed out some of the local sites, including Toulouse Lautrec's birthplace just up the street. By our third visit, the welcome was positively overwhelming.
