“First night in Albi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel, Hostellerie de Vigan, We found several restaurants near this as well, as we made our way there. The excellent decor, good food and attentive staff ( English spoken) made this a great choice. It was doing a very good trade on a Tuesday night and seemed to be a mixture of tourists (of mixed nationalities) and locals who were welcomed like long lost friends. We had two courses, Entree & Desert for €28.00 each, from the Menu Promenade. The squid and lamb was excellent and the deserts were a perfect finish to the meal

“An Outstanding Dinner in a Lovely Room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

We had a delicious and interesting dinner in this lovely restaurant. First, there is a very warm greeting from the owner who speaks very good English. The menus looked appealing but a bit quirky (both starter choices on the Spring menu had foie gras – which neither of us care for.) I had the Tarn menu and my wife decided on the squid planca, and this turned out to be a good decision since I had much more than one person’s portion on each course of my menu. We began with an excellent pork farcou (a warm shredded pork in a cake-like serving). Delicious. My wife’s squid planca with chorizo was tender and tasty. I had the Bishop’s cod stew – which our host described as a cassoulet of cod. It was excellent with bean mash (and a few whole beans) over slices of refreshed salt cod – enhanced by a star anise which gave the dish a sophisticated flavor. We had a bottle of the Gallic red that the restaurant was featuring. Our mains were followed by two pieces of cheeses of the area: one goat; one not – both good. And finally, we had a generous apple tartine with slices of apple and an intense delicious raspberry sorbet. One of the best dinners on the trip.

“Wonderful Meal and Affordable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Our first ever tripadvisor review, based solely on the great experience we had yesterday. We sat outside in the mini-courtyard, and between the two of us had two excellent set of meals, including a fantastic salt-cod cassoulet and pork/prune stuffing that was unlike anything we'd ever tasted. Everything was locally grown.

The staff was just about the nicest, most helpful and most generous and we'd encountered all trip, and they helped make our day in Albi just about perfect (our only complaint is we didn't have more time to explore this uniquely beautiful city, as well as the confusing roads/construction we had when trying to drive out).

“Unpretentious and worthy of consideration”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We found the staff helpful and attentive. There are a number of menu options so lots of choice. The food was locally influenced and priced about right. Booking is recommended as they were full on Saturday and at Sunday lunch - a mix of locals and French tourists.

“good but not special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Le Lautrec is generally well reviewed and looks very good. Wre stopped by at lunch to make a booking for dinner and the restaurant was packed. In the evening we were glad to have a table as the restaurant was soon full--but the clientele were a large tour group from Lyon. Our food was good but not great. Service was a little disorganized and they seemed understaffed. Wr had expected a great last meal in Albi, but this experience was just average and a little more expensive. There are better places in Albi. If you choose Lautrec, be sure to book, however, as tourists want to eat there.
