“Lovely food, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Had a lovely lunch in the outdoor area, food was very good though not excellent. The owner efficient but a smile goes a long way in the restaurant industry. Would return as the food was worth it and great value for money. Dessert was the best course.

“Allez les bleus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Thanks to a France World Cup match, we got a late reservation - generally impossible, apparently. Our host was extremely friendly and pointed out the best value - the €33 wine tasting menu. The food was eclectic and interesting but very good. The only downside was a couple of food bloggers who wanted to take photos everywhere.

“Mixed review.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

I was recently in Albi for a friends 60th and went to La Table du Sommelier on a recommendation. We managed to get a table on the terrace which was lovely, bright and warm. It had good decor with the place names of famous wine regions scattered around and a great atmosphere. The service was excellent as were the wines. We were helped with our wine selections by the very knowledgeable staff. All was good until the food came, which I have to say was very disappointing and mostly tasteless. It was beautifully presented, but two out of the 3 courses lacked flavor for me.If they can sort out the chef this will be a fabulous place to spent time with friends and family.

“Fantastic find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

Was visiting friends who live here and this is one of their favourite restaurants. Had a fantastic meal (chose the fixed menu with the local wine selections, which were delicious, as well as beautifully presented) and an incredible aperitif of grapefruit rose. The owner was pleasant and welcoming. The tables are a little close together, and small - but, this is France, and that seems to be not outside the norm. As it was still early in the season, the outdoor seating was not available, but am definitely looking forward to a return visit for patio seating. The menu changes seasonally, and there is an a la carte menu as well as the fixed course/wine pairing menu.

“Tasteless”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014 via mobile

With a winemenu at 33 euro each, first of all you expect water without charge, and you expect a good seat at a solid table. If you are above 6 foot you will have trouble with your knees at these tables.
But the restaurant is nice, well located and nice setting. You can choose a la carte, or from several menus incl., several wine menus.
We choose the white and the red wine menus, but I was dissapointed that the wines came from both Germany, Argentina, and not all of them from France. I mean we are in the middle of one the biggest wine countries in the world!
The food was served by a very friendly staff, I guess we had 3 staff members around us.
B
The food was elegant, coloured and served in different plates in funny shapes, but that does not change, that the food was tasteless, and not what I expected for a restaurant of this kind. The entrée was kind a crispy fish with spinach, the main some pork with very little garniture and the dessert cubes of ice arranged on brownie.
The redwine did not match neither the entrée nor the dessert.
My wife had a feeling that the same white wine was served for all her 3 dishes.
I was likely to give 2 stars, but the setup and the friendly staff deserves 1 star, so 3 all in all.
