“Would we stay here again? Deffinitely!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We booked a two night stay via booking.com and would deffinitely recommend that, because we saved €27. Even though our 1 bedroom studio wasn't the largest we've stayed in, it was cozy and large enough for two with a dog. The room was clean, the view's nothing special, but the small kitchenette was ok, and the bathroom was spacious enough and it had a bathtub (!) The only negative I can think of is the noise from the street below. But it was nothing tragic really.
Overall I was satisfied and I'm seriously thinking of staying here again next year on my way to Paris.

Room Tip: The studios on the top floor don't have a balcony

This hotel suited our purposes well and we were impressed by the size of our one bedroom room. The room included a kitchenette, and also a lovely large bathroom with a nice bath and even a towel rack / warmer which we could use to do our own laundry which is always a luxury on a long trip. There is no wifi in the hotel but a cable cord is supplied to each room. Ours was missing upon checkin, and we were told that another one could be supplied a few hours later (which it was brought to the room). The internet then worked fine, although on day two it stopped working for some reason on one log in of our computer and we were unable to get it working again. The pillows of the bed were not overly comfortable, and it was a double bed instead of a queen size so this may affect some people. The other consideration was that we had specially ordered a room with a bath tub, however on two occaisions there was no hot water to be able to have a hot bath! So this was quite frustrating. The premise of a fitness room is a little misleading, as there were just a few really old machines squeezed into a tiny room, no floor mats etc provided so no real benefit to use the fitness room at all. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it provided the amenities we required and we would stay again if we were in town.

We booked for two nights, but ended up extending our stay by one more night to finish off some errands, and also because it was so comfortable.

Well-situated by the train station, anywhere in centre-ville is walking distance. We booked online through booking.com and saved ourselves 27 euros per night. The rooms were incredibly spacious, with cable internet and great heating. As an apartment-style hotel, there is a kitchenette and we found coffee, tea and a madeleine from Commercy as a welcome snack.

The bathroom was huge, and well-heated. We even managed to do some laundry and dried them within the hour on the heater.

We were a little miffed when we requested for our towels to be changed after the second day (we had a small in-room accident and had to mop up with the towels), and were told by reception that the policy is only to service the long-stay rooms once every six days. Since we'd re-booked, we said we were happy to check-out and check-in to another room with fresh towels, and were hastily told not to worry, our towels would be changed.

We managed to get a restaurant to deliver our food right to our bedroom doorstep with a passcode we supplied, and it really felt like living at home, albeit hotel-style.

I highly recommend this, and we will return for our next business trip in Metz.

Room Tip: We stayed on level 5 and the sound of the trains were tolerable (we slept through them). I imagine t...

We stayed here two nights with prepaid vouchers we got through a hotel auction site.

When we arrived the receptionist not only told us that our reservation was not in their system, but also that he had never heard of the organisation we had made the reservation with (vakantieveiligen.nl). Luckily there was still availability, and although our vouchers were for a studio room we got a 1 bedroom apartment instead.
Clearly the receptionist managed to find out where things had gone wrong since we were not charged again for the room when we checked out two days later.

Now, a word of warning: be aware that the reception desk is closed at certain times at the weekend and on national holidays! Luckily we arrived in time, but only one hour (8PM) before the reception desk was going to close for the day as it was the Friday before Easter. Before you go contact the hotel and check the opening hours of the reception desk on the day of your arrival, or you may find yourself at a closed door and sleeping in your car instead...
I had checked the hotel website the day of our arrival and the special opening hours were not mentioned on the site, which is bad.

Location-wise it is perfect, just a few hundred metres from the central railway station, from where it's just a short walk into the old town or the other way to the Centre Pompidou.

As we had the 1 bedroom apartment the room itself was spacious, but the bed - although the mattress was comfortable - was way too small for 2 people. The bathroom was not that clean, and there was no hook for the showerhead so washing your hair in the shower with one hand is an awkward exercise.
Yes, you can hear the trains and the announcements during the day and the night (our room was facing the tracks which were approx 150 metres away), but it didn't bother us.
In the lobby is a vending machine with drinks and snacks. We didn't try the breakfast (EUR 9,50 per person), we did use the underground parking (EUR 8/night). Again, the services are offered on the website but the prices are not quoted...

The standard rates for the studio are EUR 89/night, and for the apartment EUR 136. There is nothing that justifies these high rates. We had only paid EUR 24/night, which is the only reason why we still rate this hotel as 3 star/average. Next time we'll stay at an IBIS hotel again though.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front of the building facing the road.

I've stayed in a few of these apartment/hotels in France (Saint Nazaire & Nancy), but the Aparthotel in Metz was by far the best, the room was very spacious (although I did haveone of the slightly larger 2 room rooms), the kitchen is basic with 2 hobs, a large fridge and a microwave oven, the location is quite close to the motorway (3-4 minutes), train station (1 minute) and a good 10 minute walk to the city center of Metz, some have mentioned that the tannoy system in the train station could be heard in their room, but I heard nothing from it. I didnt try the restaurant, but it looked ok. there is free underground parking also

Had some pretty bad service here - kitchen was filthy, internet was not working, staff were pretty rude. However, I ended up back there at my wife's insistence and it was a little better and they gave me a discount as way of an apology (though we had complained pretty hard to them!). Its kind of a nice student residence (in fact half is a student residence and half an aparthotel). Folding beds are pretty uncomfortable and internet is a cable, no wifi here. They have a fitness room but it is a cheap step machine and strider, both of which feel a little unsafe and have not seen oil ever. Car park has an entrance which made some rather nasty grating noises on the bottom of my car though it is a little lower than average.
