“Nice surprise around the corner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

In Metz for a day, we went around to discover the city and we arrived to the Rue des Jardins from the Place de la Comedie.
I was surprisef to see a restaurant in the ex-Café Chagall.
We were inspired by the simple and cozy decoration... Well done as the food is at the image of thr place: simple et de bon goût.
Try it.

“Definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

This idiosyncratic restaurant, situated in a quiet corner opposite the cathedral and well away from the tourist joints of Place St-Jacques, provided the most interesting experience of our French holiday. It is attached to a deli specialising in produce of the Languedoc, native region of the owner, and the menu has just five plates offering fish, meat, pate de fois gras, cheese and sweet things. Each plate consists of about a dozen very elegant confections displaying the variety which each type of food can offer. Languedoc wines to suit each plate added to the pleasurable experience. The bill for two of us sharing three plates and wine came to 70 Euros, excellent value for money compared with what you can pay for mundane food in Metz. The owner is more than happy to discuss his unusual philosophy of presentation. Definitely worth a visit.
