Beautiful chateau with ancient rooms. Very caring owner, was keep to explain us the whole history of the place and give tips for visits around. The guest rooms are very comfortable (not necessarily antique), furnished in oriental style. Ideal for couples or a family. Pool is under a roof, not very big but there is also a good oppourtunity to cool off in shadow of old trees in the huge park... loved it. Very romantic accomodation - you will not forget this place!

When you look for an attractive place in the Chambres de Charme guide, you know in principle what you can expect. And no mistake, four "épis d'or" is a high rating!
Virginie Kuntz and her team exactly and perfectly provide everything you might wish as far as adequate accomodation goes. Everything is absolutely first rate. No use to go into the many outstanding details. Whatever your benchmarks, they will be adequately met! The price/value rate could not be better.
But for us - we planned this stay as a family reunion, two octogenarians plus daughter and son in law - the obvious contentment and implementation of our expectations was not what made our stay so unique. I can distinguish three reasons that explain why we felt so elated about our Château-de-Manoncourt experience.
The first has to do with the location. Manoncourt is at equidistance (approximately thirty or so kilometers) from two remarkable cities, viz. Metz and Nancy. There are of course many aspects that make both cities so special. For us there are two outstanding attractions. Metz is the first city to host "another" Centre Pompidou. Its architecture is overwhelming. The way it functions as a museum, is exemplary. I never nor anywhere have seen such an efficient didactic approach to a selection of masterpieces as the one implemented in the gallery on the second floor. You walk along a dark corridor, look at the notices about the artists against the wall at your right side. You make a half turn around and you face the work in question. The only thing you further have to do, is entering the room where all the masterpieces can be admired. Definitely a brilliant idea!
A visit to Nancy brings you face to face with the absolutely perfect Place Stanislas. The rigid symmetry and harmony of the volumes is beyond compare. The exuberant sculptures in the corners are of an unseen grace!
The second attraction of our lodgings is the underlying concept. Everything you see is an emanation of the Asian culture. It creates a very special kind of peace and rest. It exudes a homogenous harmony. And what is really special is that after a while you realize that you inhale an intriguing smell, the Ylang aroma, that gave its name to the rooms where you stay. What's "in the name", is effectively also "in the air". It is uncommon to encounter evidence of this type. You simply cannot miss it. The beauty of this place is so overwhelming.
And the highest mark of originality lies in waiting for the visitor who is now walking through the garden to the reception hall, with his mind set on just having a healthy breakfast. It soon becomes apparent that the best is about to.come. Watch the perfectly dressed table. Flowers, colours, cups and plates of an extreme oriental elegance and the most jovial service and conversation. Here is where to drink your freshly pressed fruit juice and your tea has turned into an art and a "joie de vivre". Everything is fresh, fragrant and decorated. After one day you wonder what the next day will bring. More of the same but with delicate variation. Do not expect to drink two consecutive days from the same type of cups. On the final day of our stay, a Sunday, the lady of the manor had decided to match what she was wearing with the dominant colours on the breakfast table!
No wonder we hope to be there another time. No wonder that this praise is so voluminous!

We have been warmly welcomed by Miss Kuntz who is really very friendly !
The Junior Suite (Yasmin) was really beautiful and very nicely furnished in an oriental style.
You really feel at home immediately! Breakfast was delicious and Miss Kuntz gave us some great adresses to visit the surroundings.
It was the perfect weekend, really a dream !
I would advice it to everybody who would like to visit NANCY, it's only 20 minutes from the city center but it's location is gorgeous and it's worth the price difference!
Don't take a hotel in the city, treat yourself to a journey @ le chateau. You won't regret it, we surely didn't regret it at all!
