This little town is somewhat aside from the main tourist routes (which may have been its salvation so far) yet poised beautifully near Avignon, Nimes and the nr 1 attraction, the Pont-du-Gard.
With its many towers and lovely sandstone buildings, it has a truly medeival touch and at the same time, a quite unexpected sophistication.
Small and compact on its hilltop, it is a great place to spend some time and explore 'la France profond' which presents itself in the numerous villages around and into the foothills of the rather wild Cevennes mountains with ravines & river gorges.
Not to mention the history....
Come and discover this sleeping beauty before she awakens!
