We needed to find some information and followed the signs by car for the tourist office. However, they eventually disappeared and we couldn't see it. Having by now found a restaurant for lunch, we were told where it was. It certainly is central, but was in the middle of the town centre surrounded by other buildings, the river etc. Easy to find when you know where to look.
Once inside, they had lots of local information for the town and surroundings. The gentleman at the desk was most helpful and we had an interesting conversation about France and other things. He was also able to supply us with information / maps on nearby places.
Fortunately, the office was not busy and unlike our visit to the Bordeaux office there was no wait in a queue, we were the only ones there. This meant that we were not rushed and explanations could be done easily. In fact we enjoyed Perpignan very much and we would be happy to return again.
