“Lovely, tasty tapas, cosy-chic interior and friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Tucked away in the maze of tiny alleys around the market in the heart of the old city, this restaurant does not disappoint. The tapas are absolutely excellent - try the Manchego cheese i Membrillo and the to-die-for Bolleta Ham - and so are the deserts - excellent Ile Flottante with meringue - and the wine. Service is efficient and friendly, the setting is cosy and chic.

“Great tapas and helpful waitress”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Between us we ordered and tried nearly everything on the menu! The house special of grilled squid even for me who doesn't really like squid (or the thought of it!) was really tasty. The padron peppers were salty and as good as those found in the best tapas bars in Spain. Another stand out dish was the tiny little white fish (smaller than white bait) which were crisp having been fried in a thin batter that did not overwhelm.

The waitress was very helpful in explaining what dishes were, making recommendations both in terms of food and wine. We had one of the more expensive bottles of red, which was hearty and went perfectly with all the varied flavours of the tapas dishes.

We also tried out a couple of the deserts. The waffle was a bit disappointing for 4 euro but the fondant of chocolate was rich and gooey and to be recommended. Probably rich enough to share between two!

If visiting Perpignan again, I would definitely return to New Bodega. To give an idea of price, 3 people not holding back on the ordering front(!) with a bottle of wine, few beers and a couple of deserts was circa 100 euro.

“Friendly tapas bar/restaurant with comfortable deep interior”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Stopped here a few times rest at the end of the busy Rue René Paratilla and eat a snack after the market, nice buzzy friendly atmosphere, simple tapas. Four tables outside, and more formal eating inside, and sofas at the back. Just a short walk from Place de la République.

“Excellent.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Great tapas bar near the cathedral, with a large & good value selection of wines. Patatas bravas, gambas, belota ham - all here in abundance. Good atmosphere.
