Not far from Narbonne Railway station is Les Grands Buffet. Normally, if you asked me to go to a restaurant associated to a swimming pool complex I'd run a mile but LGB is a very different kettle of fish. It has a fixed price of 25.99E for all you can eat. The choice is vast and all of the food is of excellent quality. I usually pig out on a variety of starters as they are just amazing, have a light main course and then dive into the the desserts. There are over 70 to choose from not counting ice creams and sorbets! The wine list is excellent and they do a deal that if you buy 6 bottles at the end of the meal the one you had with the meal is then free. Sparkling water is 1E for a 1 litre bottle and coffee is normal prices i.e. 1.50E for an espresso. Service is excellent and a number of the staff speak good English. Their website is accurate and booking, essential most evenings, is easy to do on line. If it's your birthday or some other anniversary you will get a cake and candles at the end of the meal free of charge. Decor is very good, tables are not too close together and the external seating area, summer only, is sought after. I know of nobody who, having been once, doesn't go again and, BTW, there is extensive free parking. If you go on a Thursday there is an English style pub downstairs with live music. Drinks are pricy but entrance is free. All in all this is a great place for an evening out, you will be stunned by the choice and you do need to be hungry so be warned!
