“a little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

we were recommend to this place by our hotel. it is situated down a side street and has a modern style inside dinning area, the outside courtyard at the back is ancient and very romantic. I was initially disappointed by the very short menu, but once the food started to arrive OMG it was brill!!
amuse gueule was a carpaccio of melon - superb, (we missed out on starters), I had cod in a lemon and basil sauce with potatoes and fresh veg, - truly delicious, the wife had beef filet which was also excellent and very tender. Now the coup de grace!!
Dessert, we both had "fruit of the day" crumble but were also tempted by the home-made strawberry and mint sorbet so we had that to share as well. Both were outstanding. Good and friendly service so full marks all round.

“Fresh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

A lot of what this restaurant serves depends on the market and the season. By consequence: everything is fresh & tasteful!
The cod I got was exquisite, the vegetables & potatoes delicious. The outdoor seating is beautiful, the atmosphere relaxed. The waiter was professional ánd in a very pleasant way informal.
Last but not least: prices are very reasonable.
What more can one expect from a restaurant?!

“Excellent Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Smallish restaurant, modern décor with subtle lighting and patio dining at the rear. It was warm enough so we chose to eat outside (for the first time this year) under the trees. Atmospheric!!

The young husband and wife team work hard to make this a very pleasant place to eat. The young lady organised an outside table quickly and the young server was at our side immediately with the menus and "carte des vins" The "Amuses Bouches" set the tone for superb, perfectly cooked dishes in a very relaxed setting. A special mention must go to the souris d'agneau, so tender it fell off the bone - and the accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection. A good wine list was offered and we chose an excellent Cremant de Limoux. Most French restaurants offer very expensive Champagne.

We were so impressed we went back for a second visit and chose different plats.

A previous comment "A eviter" - one star-can be ignored.

“Vegetables!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

French food is great but what's their aversion to vegetables? This restaurant's chef is very modern and innovative but loves his vegetables. The service is great, the food is delicious. Our fish was superb surrounded by a lovely selection of fresh baby vegetables. Perhaps chef could be a little gentler with the salt. The lemon tart was so light. Really excellent, they've only been open for six months, it's a small menu but well thought out. Garry McDonald AO

“Great food, and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Tucked away in quiet laneway, this place is a surprise. Lunch menu offered simple choices, all were excellent. Mesculun salad was so fresh and full of flavour. Pork with roast vegetables stunning.
