“Highly overpriced”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2007

This hotel is totally overpriced. It has a very good location as it is close to the city centre and it only takes 5 minutes to walk to the tram. The sheets on the bed were very clean, but the towels in the bathroom weren't. There were still smudges on them so not washed hot enough and they are really thin because they have probably been used for years and years. The bedroom as horrible. It was on the 2nd floor with no lift and the bed was stuck to one wall and only had room on the other side for a bedside table. There was airconditioniing available, but no remote control and it turned out that you had to pay another 3 euro's to have it activated!! How cheap. The toilet was not cleaned properly and the shower curtain was filthy. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good, but sleeping there was not enjoyable. This is not a 2 start hotel, but a good 1 star and I do not expect to pay such a high price, for such a bad room.

After the Abasun Hotel (by the station) gave our room away (booked with a credit card) to someone else we hopped in a taxi and headed to the Acapulco (because it was the only name I could remember). It was gone midnight and the hotel was officially closed for the night, the lovely young woman on reception found us a room, the studio, off the courtyard - quiet, tranquil and clean with a very friendly welcome and a pleasant 15 min walk to the town centre. Would definitely go there again and NEVER go back to the Abasun (especially if you're getting the late eurostar into Montpellier on a Saturday night!)
