“Great for business / self catering”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

My second stay here, a good choice if you don't need a proper restaurant/bar on site and are happy to use car/taxi/tram/long walk. 20 mins frim airport.

Large rooms with kitchenette & breakfast bar, stools, some nice complimentary refreshments, lounge/desk area, separate bedroom & bathroom (with 2 doors as you can walk all the way round the suite, but NB no locks for bathroom if you're sharing).

Clean, some noise from trams, no nearby taxi rank so you need to order in advance, but bars/restaurants at Esplanade de l'Europe are <5 minute walk. Quite far to walk to centre though.

Free wifi, small gym, tiny circular pool, basic (additional charge) breakfast, vending machines.

Perfectly good serviced suite / self-catering hotel, don't confuse with proper Novotel which is in the middle of nowhere. If you need more "proper" hotel services, there are plenty of others in this neighbourhood.

We stayed at the novotel hotel for a week and found it to be a good hotel. The rooms were very spacious with good facilities. The breakfast was nice with a great selection of breads and croissants as you would expect in France.

You can walk into the centre of Montpellier in 15 minutes if you cut through the Paragon shopping centre or talk the tram if you prefer.

We found it a good base for exploring this region of France. If you have a car then there are parking facilities at the hotel although be warned that the entrance and parking spots are extremely tight!

We had a very enjoyable stay.

Rooms were somewhat clean, carpets were dirty, and bed was uncomfortable. It was nice to have your own mini kitchen, however there were no dishes or cutlery. The pool area was extremely noisy as the hotel is situated beside a large, busy intersection. Front staff were helpful, but like most in France...very slow. We never ate at the hotel so can't say anything about the restaurant. The parking garage was very small and steep. Do not take a medium to large sedan type car down there!

We stayed here in August 2012 with our four children. When we arrived the children went straight to the pool - the foot wash was thick with hairs- while swimming our eldest son sliced open his toe on the edge of a tile in the pool (there were lots of missing tiles), we went to reception who took 5 minutes to speak to us (they were constantly answering the phone rather than dealing with the clients in front of them) and asked them for a first aid kit telling them what had happened. They showed little interest and handed us a first aid kit where nearly everything in it was opened and unsterile with nothing to swab blood with. We asked to see the manager and waited for him but he decided to go home instead! My husband is a frequent visitor to the Accor group of hotels and this is by far the worst he has encountered.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and found it a convenient base, a 20 minute walk or a short tram ride to the centre. The parking seems to be limited so we made sure to book in advance. It is secure underground parking and cost €10 per day. On street parking is expensive and the old city is car free.
The rooms were large and comfortable. The kitchenette had a fridge, microwave and kettle but no crockery, just paper cups. I found this unhelpful as the only reason I wanted the kitchenette was to be able to make the occasional cup of tea or coffee.
There is a range (30+) of free movies available in each of the major languages.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and will provide free maps of the city.

The hotel is ready to get to from the airport by the bus (across the roundabout). The staff are very helpful and the facilities are clean and of a good standard. Although the rooms have a small kitchenette there are no plates or pans to use, which was a bit disappointing but not a great problem as we weren't planning on cooking but did pose a problem for breakfast in the room.

The pool is big enough but not massive, the best bit was that it seemed to be heated which made having a dip more enjoyable.

All in all a good stay and the hotel is only 10 mins walk from the centre.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

We (family of 5) stayed here in early July. The hotel is in the Antigone district which is very modern district. Large boulevards and open spaces made it a lovely place to stay. The hotel is close to a couple of tram stops which made the journey into the old district very easy. Walking into the old part of the city took about 10mins.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms large. They also had useful kitchenettes. The buffet style breakfasts were great. Pool was small and very cold but the hotel is very close to the municipal olympic sized swimming pool which we used instead. The children appreciated the free movies.

Overall a great family hotel for a family.
