“Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and thought the service was friendly and efficient. Set menu has plenty of choice. The desserts were particularly delicious.

“Nice walled courtyard, food average at best.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

On a quiet evening mid week in October we had no problem getting a table for two in the courtyard. Service was OK early in the evening but slowed down a lot as the place filled up, as it seems one of the two young ladies was also cooking. The food was a bit below average with little flavour and very tough meat. When we tired of waiting for the bill I went looking for someone and found our waitress in the dining room by the bar cooking a whole duck breast in a frying pan on a hot plate. I thought that a bit strange. Prices were quite modest but so was the food. Would not go again and cannot recommend.

“Great atmosphere and decent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

Very good value, offering decent (not outstanding) food at a good price, avoiding the temptation to be a straightforward tourist rip-off. And what a lovely courtyard setting!

Starters had the edge over the mains, but this is good well presented. Go there

“Good food, perfect atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I spent two months in Montpellier this summer, and I ate at this restaurant multiple times for both lunch and dinner. It would be hard to duplicate the good food, nice ambiance and the very reasonable prices that this place offers. At lunch is not that busy, but it is an excellent place to enjoy a two-course meal for about 10 euros. At night it gets busier especially if you want to sit on. their beautiful outdoor area, which you should try to because it is an absolutely gorgeous place that transports you to a bygone era. Service is good but beware of a potential problem for solo travelers: at a peak dining time they most certainly turn you down expecting to fill up the table with two diners or more. It's annoying but it happens in many charming restaurants in Montpellier. It has to do with the small size of most restaurants, and the fact that one diner doesn't consume as much as two or more so the restaurant obviously makes less money. Here is my advise: if you are dining solo it's better that you go a bit later, say after 1:30 for lunch or after 9 for dinner.
