We spend nine nights around Christmas 2013 and had a really good stay. All staff, front of house, rooms, bar, always polite, welcoming and so helpful. The room was of comfortable size, comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities (which I was delighted to see), clean and bright. Get out of the hotel and you can get on the tramway, absolutely wonderful way to get into the city centre, and just 2 stations away from the Place de l'Europe where you catch the shuttle to the airport. So really practical. It is even possible to walk back from the town centre to the Courtyard as we did on Christmas night when all the trams had finished...
One negative point: breakfast is terribly expensive and not justified. The breakfast buffet is 19 Euros per head. One morning we were told politely but without any discussion that the buffet finishing at 10 we had to help ourselves as quickly as possible. The waiter gave us 10 minute-warning, then he cleared the buffet and even cleaned the coffee machine which became unusable! Stupidly I didn't say anything and complied, but the warning should have been given to us as we entered the breakfast area or be mentioned in any written way so as to make customers aware of the cut-off point. There are plenty of brasseries, cafes, patisserie, around the neighbourhood to get a typical French breakfast. Don't hesitate to venture out, also a Carrefour Express not far on the other side of the river within those big blocks of flats.
Lastly, parking at the hotel is costly (a deterrent to using one's car in Montpellier is the cost of public parking; the tramway is cheap and frequent). It would perhaps be nice to have special, preferential offers for customers who book several nights, as we did.
Finally, and again, a tremendously good place to stay, I don't know why other reviews are so critical about the staff, because we only had a good experience, thank you to them on duty between 19th and 28th of December, we only had welcoming smiles, always helping us with internet searches, and we were always acknowledged as we came in or went out.
