“Parking entrance not signposted”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

The main problem I had on arriving was determining where to park to unload my luggage. Normally one can park for a limited period outside the hotel's front entrance when unloading, but in the case of this hotel, this is not possible because of tramlines. The car park entrance is actually on the side of the hotel, away from the pedestrian entrance. An illuminated sign would be very helpful.

The rooms are not all the same size and shape, an in my opinion, are not well designed for anybody needing to set up a laptop computer. The workspace in most rooms is very small, and insufficient for connecting a printer.

The hotel is very comfortable, and the breakfast/restaurant area is very pleasant. I did not use the restaurant for dinner. There was not much choice and my favourite meals were either not listed, or included ingredients that I detested. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

“Very good stay at the Mecure Antigone Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

I stayed at the Mecure Antigone hotel in Montpellier, France for 5 nights for business earlier this month. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

The location is quite good. The tram lines are close by and it is about a 10 minute walk to the Polygone, which is the main shopping mall. The mall has everything you may need, including a grocery store. Also, it is a short walk from the hotel into the main parts of town.

The room itself was spacious. The toilet was separate from the main bathroom, and the bathroom was clean. There was a small hallway with a closet and minibar, and then the main room itself was large. I had a view of the street and palm trees from my window, and it wasn't noisy with the street there. There was English television available (CNN if I am remembering correctly), and the beds were large and very comfy.

I took advantage of the breakfast buffet there, as it was included in the price of my room and it was HUGE. Everything you could possibly want was there. Cereals, milk, fruit, meat, cheese, bread, yogurt, pastries and hot items such as eggs, pancakes, sausage and hard boiled eggs. There was an amazing selection, including some organic products as well. It was a lovely surprise and one of the best parts of my stay.

In terms of internet access, it was free and there was a terminal in the lobby you could use to print etc.

In terms of some negative aspects of my stay, I found that there were some extra costs that were a bit higher than planned. I had to get some printing done and make some calls for work. That ended up costing me over $50 (CDN) for those items. Also I had to check out earlier than planned due to a rail strike and ended up getting charged for the additional night. I mean I understand about those costs, but it would have been helpful to know about them at the time, rather than when I checked out.

Overall though, I had a very good stay and would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

“Room very Average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

We stayed here for one night. I picked this hotel through the Accor Website as I am a member. Unfortunately this hotel did very much disappoint. The staff at reception did not seem over welcoming and our room - It did not seem to match the picture on the Accor site. The big thing was our room had green carpet as the one from the internet had polished floor. Room was very dated and bathroom was very average. It did not make me feel very comfortable. The location was quite good (only 20 minutes walking from the train station) and shopping and restaurants also very close. We ate in a lovely little restaurant only about 5 minutes from the hotel. You could catch the tram if you wished as it stopped very close. Would only stay here again if a renovation was to be undertaken.

“Clean, comfortable room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

This hotel is by no means an upscale hotel. It is though a nice clean, comfortable place to get some rest when traveling on business. The room had a king size bed, small table and two chairs, toilet, and tub/shower. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff at check in were very helpful with locating nearby restaurants and a good route to go for a run in the morning. There is a parking garage under the hotel but it is NOT free for guests. The cost is 10 euro. Breakfast is kinda of high at 16 euro. There is a bar and restaurant available along with room service. I did not try out any of these. Free wifi is available and the speed was adequate. Having not been in Montpellier before the location seems very central with a couple of tram lines running by and a godo selcetion of restaurants about a 5-10 min walk away. I would recommend this hotel and stay again myself.

“Excellent service and value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

This hotel is a 10-to-20-minute stroll to the main sights (Opera, Musée Fabre, Cathedral, Botanical Gardens...), across an esplanade and a shopping center. From the train station, it's a 10-minute ride on tram line no. 1. The service on a weekend was excellent.
