“Nice little hotel, just a few steps from the medieval town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Great hotel for visiting Carcassone for a night or two, Only drawback was the rather hard mattress. It is a clean friendly place with free parking. Breakfast is reasonably priced with an average selection.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely little hotel. We were nice and snug in our comfortable room, with lovely views of the castle. After long periods of walking the last thing you want is a long track back to your hotel. This makes this hotel all the more desirable as its only a few minutes from the fortress itself. Well worth the money.

Room Tip: Ask for view of the fortress

Allocated a small room on the second floor but we did have a great few of the Fortification from it and this close proximity to the citadel is the best thing about the hotel (besides the free parking). The hotel is distinctly average we found the room very hot and asked the man at the desk about this he replied that there was no air conditioning until it became hotter (he had a different definition of hot to us) and suggested we open the windows .I suppose he thought we had not contemplated that.
Anyway the hotel is superbly located for visiting the medieval citadel which we were totally enamoured with .The old fortification was somewhat better kept than the town itself which is best described as elegantly dilapidated though we did enjoy a canal trip and it was nice to watch the town drunks frolicking in the warm spring air on the grassy area near the canal just before their arrest.

A good tip is to use the little buses - number four goes right up to the castle area and only costs one euro.

Room Tip: Get one with a castle view and ask for air conditioning if enough ask perhaps they will use it.l

This is the perfect location for visiting the fortress. The hotel and our room was clean, bright, and comfortable. Our room had a view from the window of the fortress and it only took minutes to walk there. The breakfast was very good. This hotel is a great bargain! And it has free, off street parking.

Excellent location, very near the fortress. Hotel has been recently updated so it is very clean and quite charming. Staff is very friendly and multi-lingual. Great bargain for the price they charge! Non-smoking - yea! Restaurant across the street served excellent duck

Location, location, location! Very short walk(several minutes) to Citadel with view of walls from hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and all desk staff spoke English. Ample parking for cars(no charge). All other aspects of hotel were average at best. Rooms were small and clean. Towels were too small.

Enchanted place for a visit but really need a car. Easy to find from airport with buses 100m from hotel. Room 205 the best with access straight on to pool terrace. Large breakfast room with good choice. Only complaint is the bed was very hard and no mini fridge, but other than that it was excellent.
