I reviewed this restaurant in April 2012 and visit at least once a month when we go to our house in the next village.
We love the walk through the vineyards from Preixan to Rouffiac and always enjoy our meals here. The price for lunch has increased from 12 euros to 13 euros since my last review but is still amazing value for money. In the last few months the owner has been changing the decor towards a 50s diner. There is lighting around the ceiling, new red tables and chairs.
The food is as good as ever. A buffet of starters followed by waitress service for the main course which is a choice of 4 main dishes which always include steak and duck as well as two other options. A cheese course is then served followed by waitress service for a choice of sweet dishes. Coffee is also included which we like to drink at the bar to chat to the locals and owners. The owner and his son were showing us the pictures they are shortly to put up including Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Audrey Hepburn.
The price of 13 euros includes as much wine as you can drink...we call this restaurant "2 bottles" because as soon as we sit down the waitress brings over a bottle of red for my husband and a bottle of rose for me. There is also a choice of liquers behind the bar to drink with your coffee.
As explained in my previous review this is a "truck stop" so is mainly frequented by workmen but locals and tourists are equally as welcome...we're already looking forward to our next visit in January!
