Clean, modern hotel with friendly staff.

Rooms cleaned and bedding/ towels changed daily. Some people have mentioned in their review that the wet room bathroom is off-putting but we thought this was a clever, very modern use of space with modern fixtures and fittings.

Breakfast is extra, at 8 euros per head, it is continental and everything was fresh and very tasty, also well replenished. The breakfast room has a superb view of the medieval city.

On that note, the hotel is approx 250 metres (uphill) walk from the famous medieval city.

If you fly in to carcassonne airport catch the 'agglo bus' right outside the airport and tell the driver the name of the hotel, he will tell you where to get off, and the bus then picks up right opposite the medieval city for the return journey only 5 euros!

For the price (around 75 euros per night) this hotel matched the rest of the local offerings in that price range!

A very enjoyable stay

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Carcassonne and want to be (very) close to the old walled Cité. There is even some free parking on site (as well as a paid underground car park). Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are on the compact and basic side, but are kept scrupulously clean. The en-suite facilities are fairly cramped for space but provide everything you need - although some will not like the 'wet room' shower.
The only real problem we had was the noisy ceiling slats in the room entrance and bathroom. If you leave your window open, the draft causes the light slats to lift and fall back into position - making a lot of noise! This means you can't really leave the window open at night and so the room can become very warm and stuffy.
In all other respects, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel and Carcassonne.

I think that it has already been said a number of times, this hotel is very good in all areas, cleanliness, service, free Wifi, parking ( watch the narrow driveway at the side of the hotel leading to rear area...Ouch Renault!).

Value for $ (especially AUD) with a basic buffet breakfast and fantastic location easy walk into old city with good restaurants to chose from. (try the cassoulet canard- yum!)

Fantastic location and free parking on site - short walk to La Cite and can walk across the bridge to the new town. Plenty of good restaurants to eat at in the walled city. Added bonus is the self serve laundry on the main road just a few minutes walk away. The newer town is worth a look - typical French town with a lovely square.

I stayed at this hotel earlier in the year in a twin room with no view but found it comfortable with a convenient location.
I returned with my other half and booked a double room with a view. It was lovely to lay in bed and look out at the walled city of carcassonne. The bed was the most comfortable in all our stay in France.
The decor is more like a travelodge, but was clean and the staff were friendly

caracsonne was the least enjoyable part of a 4 week trip around Europe. The castle can occupy you for 1/2 day, but after that theres nothing to see. I would advise making a day trip to Carcasonne to avoid having to pay for over priced accomodation and food. This is the 1st time that I have been sufficiently motivated to complain about accomodation. The air conditioning was not turned on until we requested it, the moveable shower screen in the tiny bathroom did not stop water going all over the floor, and there were no english channels (just 1 would have been nice to while away the long nights in Carcasonne) The hotel is very close to the city wall, but that is its only plus. I would definately give an over night stay in Carcasonne a miss.

Stayed here only one night and were prepared for much worse given some of the reviews. The shower/bathroom is a bit odd, but not too far different from other places I have stayed in W. Europe. This is a super-budget hotel, and though the price might be a bit high for the room were it sitting somewhere else, it is only a short walk up to the walls of Carcassonne. There are a few restaurants along a street near the hotel that looked reasonable (we ate in the "downtown" to get away from the crowd for a bit. I am not sure I would spend more than a night or two here, but the service was fine and we got what we expected. The down side: a large group of cyclists exiting the hotel at first light who seemed to be organizing their trip and gear two feet from our door - but otherwise a quiet location.
