“Breathtaking view and tastefully decorated rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Carcassonne is actually two cities. The magnificent Walled, Medieval City which overlooks the lower city called The Bastide. It takes about 20 minutes to walk up to the medieval city from The Bastide. Carcassonne Guest House has a gorgeous view of the medieval city from its terrace, where guests are served breakfast in the morning (weather permitting) or can simply relax after a long day of touring. The walk from the train station to the Guest House takes about 15-20 minutes, straight through the middle of the The Bastide. My room was spotlessly clean and a pleasure to return to in the evenings. The owner, Patrick, seems to have a knack for knowing exactly what to say and do to make one feel at home. For travelers who would like to do some wine tasting, head directly to La Coté Ferme, where they have about 15-20 regional wines available for tasting, along with wonderfully prepared food from the area. Patrick can give you directions.

Patrick was an amazing host. Helped with every detail.
His recommendations for Restaurants was spot on!
Highly informative, great for travellers.
Rooms were large and very comfortable. The beds were excellent, and heaps of hot water. What else does a traveller ask for?

We stayed at the Carcassonne guest house, 3rd to the 8th of June, and had a wonderful time. Our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed.Breakfast was served on the patio from which we had the most wonderful view of old Carcassonne, the walled city which was the reason for our visit. The walk to the old city was only ten minutes, most of it up hill once we crossed the old bridge
.Our host Patrick was helpful with suggestions of where to eat in town and anything else that we required.

My wife and I spent five nights with here and enjoyed every minute. The Guest House is beautifully laid out and very comfortable.
Patrick and his small staff made our stay one of the most enjoyable breaks we have ever had, (despite the poor weather, the river Aude rose by a meter or more).
He recommended several places to visit in the surrounding area and some restaurants within the town, all of which were spot on.
With free car parking outside the door and the wonderful countryside just a few minutes’ drive, fully justifies bringing or hiring a car.
We happily recommend a stay here.

Carcassonne Guest House is located right between the new city of Carcassonne (La Bastide) where you will find shops, restaurants, cafes and the old city (La Cité) which offers all touristic attractions. The guest house offers a beautiful terrace overlooking the old city (breath-taking panorama) and a nice park; breakfast is served on the terrace... I love it. You get also free parking just in front of the house, which is a big plus in old cities like Carcassonne.

The host, Patrick, is a warm and welcoming, yet discreet, host. Very very pleasant. The rooms are spacious, calm and comfortable.

A perfect place to stay in Carcassonne and explore the city and the surrounding countryside.

Breakfast on the terrace looking over the river and out to the castle is truly a wonderful setting. The host, Patrick is extremely welcoming, attentive and has great restaurant recommendations. The guesthouse is very clean, comfortable, and modern/ fresh design. Free parking directly opposite. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location overlooking the river and old city and castle. Your host, Patrick, is charming, welcoming and really helpful from the time of booking to your arrival and throughout your stay. Breakfast on the south facing terrace with its stunning view of Le Cite is a real treat. The traditional French guesthouse, with original architectural features is spacious and very comfortable. I wanted to take the bed and pillows home with me! Within a few minutes' walk of both the 'new' and old town, this is the perfect destination to make the most of your visit to Carcassonne.
