Our experience was quite the opposite of the other reviewers here. It was recommended by our guide book for the homemade bread and for the view of the ramparts and we were not disappointed. Given how crowded and touristy Carcassonne can be, we were pleasantly surprised by the relative quiet and orderliness of this place. We ended up next to a couple originally from the US who had moved to Carcassonne and it turned out that they are regulars at this place. Perhaps we lucked out but our food was very good, the waiting staff attentive though busy and we basically had a relaxing good meal. As we were leaving, the hostess asked how we enjoyed everything and I told her in French that we were happy with both our meals and the service. Our only complaint was something beyond her control which was that smoking was permitted outside and it did to some extent affect our enjoyment of the meal. Nonetheless, if you are trekking through Carcassonne this place is quieter, less rushed and crowded, and more reasonably priced than places we passed along the main square so we were satisfied with our dining experience here and don't have a problem recommending it.
