We visited this restaurant on the basis of a recommendation from our host at L'Echappee Belle B&B - next door. Were turned away from the door when we entered the restaurant - turned out that it wasn't open yet...
Came back when it was, & had a wonderful night & a wonderful meal. The service was very professional: unobtrusive but attentive. Decor was traditional: white linen napery & candles on each table.
We had decided to have a main course only as we were heading across southern France the following day. The decision was fortunate as we well nigh had a three course meal anyway. A complimentary plate arrived unbidden: a ramekin of pumpkin soup (delicious). We had both chosen the lamb with thyme - the plates came with the thyme alight. Seemed gimmicky perhaps, but the truth was it lent a nice smokiness to the perfectly cooked meat. On the basis of the mains we decided to have dessert. Before they arrived we had (again complimentary) serves of a delicious panecotta topped with caramel, presented in small glass jars, complete with miniature spoons. Desserts were also excellent: a berry fruit dish & a mousse served on a layer of custard. Wines (both red & white) were very palatable, & coffees came with yet another complimentary plate: this time of small biscuits & marshmallows.
All this at what we considered a very reasonable rate. I would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to anyone.
