“Well located and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

This is not a B&B as some reviews have stated. It has a perfectly nice restaurant, albeit a bit utilitarian, in line with the remainder of the hotel's style. We had a lovely meal on our first night, served with one of the nicest red wines I have had in a while. Perfectly located a ten-minute uphill walk from the old city and a few minutes from the lower, outer city, the hotel has free parking outside though it's first-come, first-served. We stayed in Room 5, which is vast, air conditioned and quiet after 11pm. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have EVER found in a French hotel, even if access to the room was somewhat strange, through the kitchen. The staff were friendly and polite and speak English. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. It is not five-star but it helped make our two-night stay in this unique city very pleasant indeed.

Room Tip: Go for Room 5 if you like large, loft-like space and don't mind saying hello to the Chef every t...

We stayed here for 4 nights on our trip to Carcassonne. Pros - ideally situated between the medieval city and the new city. Spacious room, comfortable bed, efficient air conditioning, friendly guy serving breakfast. Cons - wifi downstairs but not in room, limited toiletries provided (no shampoo), expensive for what it was.

This B and B is ideally located just a short walk (5 mins) from the old city and has a free car park right in front of it. Its decor is modern, quirky and reminiscent of an art gallery but this adds to the charm. Our room was large, bright with high ceilings and a huge walk in shower. The room was spotless and the bed and linen really good quality and comfortable. The air con was very efficient and quiet. we had a great night's sleep. There was a tv in our room but no uk channels although I imagine this is to do with the problem of reception in the South of France since the re-routing of the satellite earlier this year. We could not stay for breakfast but noticed fresh bread and pastries were delivered from a nearby bakery. I would recommend for a short city break.

Room Tip: Room 5 was large with a king sized bed and huge walk in shower.

- No TV or wifi in the room
- Clean and comfortable
- Found it to be expensive for what is was, breakfast especially was not reflective of the money paid - a croissant and a glass of juice
- Located out of town but within easy walking distance
- Free parking right out front

After touring the medieval city of Carcassonne, it was a total relief of the touristy crowds to return to this oasis. The food was divine for dinner, and the breakfast included in room rate. All was perfect including a parking lot right in front.

I was looking for a hotel near Carcassone castle, and I found this B&B accomodation.
Wether it s centrally located, it s a bit tricky to arrive by car, however it was easy to park near b&b once I found it. Much better than an hotel. Place is very quiet, guests have entry key to the building and to the room. There is a restaurant open to the public downstairs.

Charming place within walking distance of the castle. Extremely friendly staff, charming place. Excellent breakfast with coffee, tea or hot chocolate available. Also cured meats, ham, cakes, croissants,... There is no TV in the room, but anyway who needs it while in Carcassone

Lots of restaurants arround and also within 20 minutes walking to channel du Midi and train station.

Room Tip: Room 1 is a bit bigger and has a bathtube and separate shower

This B&B is situated just outside the city walls by the old bridge. It should be noted that the proprietors run a restaurant on the ground floor. We had lunch on arrival but unfortunately my husband was ill shortly afterwards so we cannot recommend it.The decoration of the spacious room was atypical/spartan but we found it pleasing enough. Going down to breakfast in the morning we found no sign of life at 0830 so we went for a walk. On returning after 0900 we telephoned - no reply. We were about to leave when the breakfast person appeared, full of apologies for oversleeping. By 0930 we had been offered a cup of coffee and some fruit juice. A commercial bun was presented but there was no sign of bread, butter or croissants so we paid a reduced price and left.

Room Tip: The rooms looking onto the walled city must be best. Ours looked onto a building covered in scaffold...
