“a satisfying ramparts stomp”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

It's sleepy in the winter but you can imagine a more rambunctious time for this sea marsh hamlet in its heydey. The walking tour and views atop the ramparts are a treat. To layer on its history makes it doubly interesting. The crusades and St. Louis, regional politics, religious persecution, medieval warfare fortification strategy -- its all here. The pamphlet was helpful is reinforcing the storyboards along the ramparts. A portal into a different time.

Skip the bathroom facilities at the ramparts facility. Horrid.

“Medieval Fortification”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

Walking around the ramparts which go all the way around the walled city is very interesting. They lead to the Tower of Constantine where you can go to the top for beautiful views of the town of Aigues-Mortes and the area around the city. They give you a pamphlet that explains where you are and details about it.
Worth the walk!

“Climb the tower for great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Great views and an understanding of the history of the area. There's a lift up the tower but lots of steps on the ramparts.

“Need more information”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

My husband and I visited the Remparts during a weekend where the visit was free. We enjoyed walking around the walls, but limited information was available in English (nor other languages). Some of the interpretive boards had translations, but we would have appreciated more detailed information. We can't really complain, the visit was free.
