I went to Aigues-Mortes with my family this summer and stayed at one of the bed in breakfasts. We spend 5 days there and had most of our meals within the towns walls, needless to say, we've tested many of the restaurants. and without a doubt; La Citadelle, was the best.
When we arrived we we're graciously greeted by Eric, one of the waiters, and were guided to our table on the terrace. we ordered our drinks and got our menu, which had a wide variety of classic french cuisines.
As an appetizer we ordered the moules frietes and a dozen oysters which were very fresh and prepared very nicely. We were then approached by the owners of the restaurants, who seemed very nice and welcomed us to their restaurant and was checking if everything was ok. they we're very good hosts. we then got our main courses; my son ordered the moules frites, and me and my wife shared the parillada of fish wich consisted of a very nice collection of fresh french seafood.
After such an excellent meal, we of course wanted to see what the restaurant had to offer us for dessert. my son ordered a banana split, which was beautifully decorated, and arrived with firework sparklers, I had a cafe gourmand, which is an espresso, a little pastry, chocolate mouse, and a strawberry, decorated with whipped cream.
When the check arrived we we're happy to find out that all prices were quite reasonable, and comparable to, if not cheaper than other restaurants in our region and the states.
All in all i would really recommend this restaurant, and i hope you take my advise and visit it . I hear its even nicer in September ;)
