“A fabulous hotel in a unique setting - you might just expect a little bit more for your money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

This historic hotel is situated adjacent to the wonderful Chateau of Versailles. You can walk (or drive) out of the gates and straight into the estate of the Sun King. The sun-drenched terrace of the superb Verandah Restaurant immediately overlooks the park. The setting is about as perfect as it can be. If you want to explore Paris, you can be in the city centre in 20 minutes by car. Wow! We enjoyed excellent meals overseen by attentive and friendly staff, and used the very nice pool/sauna and well equipped fitness room. Don't visit this hotel if you are on a budget or expect complimentary wi-fi in your room! We were disappointed to arrive back one late afternoon to find that our room hadn't been made up. It was rectified immediately, but an inconvenience. I would however return tomorrow, but probably at the weekend when the fountains are operating in the Chateau gardens. Always look for a pre-paid rate which offers the best value.

It's a very nice hotel with a pretty garden. Rooms are nice and clean, kind of art deco design. The indoor pool is beautiful. The location is great as it is right next to the palace but it's still a walk to palace grounds as the ground is huge.

Room Tip: If possible, ask to be in main building. There is an additional building which is more conference-bu...

I would suggest staying in the Trianon even though I think the room we picked was nothing to rave about. The furniture is getting old and the much talked about views of the garden are not that spectacular. The bed was very comfortable though. I suggest not paying additional for a room with a view. We had a better view in the bathroom than the actual bedroom. That said, the service was excellent and the spa is worth exploring. Its proximity to the gardens of Versailles also make it an ideal destination during the Parisian summer. I highly recommend the restaurants. The meals we had were creative and delicious.

Recently stayed here for 3 nights with husband and a 6 year old. The hotel is luxurious, in amazing settings just metres away from the Versailles Palace and Gardens. The hotel offers nothing for nothing. A hot chocolate will set you back £10. Despite being Hilton Gold Card Members, we didn't qualify for complementary breakfast but were offered a reduced rate for £30 per head. I nearly paid it to satisfy my curiosity to see what a £90 breakfast for 3 would consist of. Instead, we walked to a nearby patisserie and paid a third of this. We did get upgraded to the main Trianon Building as opposed to the Pavilion. The room was opulent. Mirrored wardrobes, a bath to fit the three of us, wonderful views. The gym is very good for a hotel. So too are the pool and sunbathing area. I glanced (bulked) at the Guerlain Spa Menu which started at £135 for a 30 min treatment. Gordon Ramsay's restaurant was under refurb. Prices started at £45 for an entree. Somebody must be ordering to keep it open! A lovely hotel but not to be enjoyed on a budget.

Best breakfast room experience ever - high ceilings, loads of natural light, great service in a great setting. Well located hotel for the main attractions. All staff very helpful, and the pool facilities were excellent.

Beautiful main property next to a park. Pavillion ancillary accomodation environment not as nice as the main building. Gold/Diamond Hilton Honors Members beware there are NO executive type benefits for frequent travellers which I consider to be a negative as I stay at the Hilton brand properties around the world. We planned a romantic weekend and the room is nothing more than a standard business hotel room. Disappointing.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building

Had one overnight stay on the way to southen France. Lovely grounds and impressive buildings. Didn't seem to have many business people, mostly tourists just like us. Kind of has a relaxed atomosphere. Very closed to the versailles as well. The suite is very spacious with very large bathroom and sitting room, both of which have balcony overlooking the garden. Only got the chance to have room service rathe trying the restaurant, but still, very satisfied with the food. Overall service is also quite good. Small minor point: most the building looks great on the surface but some small details like paints and carpets perhaps needs some tlc.
