“Stunning, luxurious hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

A fantastic experience, would definitely recommend. we had a complimentary upgrade to a garden view room which was lovely. the room was a spacious suite with a large bathroom and luxurious furnishings. we were very happy with the services and staff, and had a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable 2 days in versailles. the restaurants were also of a very high standard. the only downside was the cost of internet! wifi should be complimentary!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The Palace and estate of Versailles are just next door, spend a day there and wear your walking shoes!!!

Great location, very nice room and washrooms-attractive, clean. Terrific location a few minutes walk from palace and town. Highly recommend hotel. Only one negative-concierge always busy when we needed advice.

After reading the reviews on here, I made sure that I selected a room in the main building and upgraded to a park view room. The layout of the room was a little disappointing as it had sideways facing balcony doors set behind furniture and a small round window which looked out over the fields. However the room was VERY comfortable.
The location was lovely, a few minutes walk to Versailles Park. It was quite a walk in to Versailles, and without a car, a little challenging to get around! Versailles itself is a very pleasant place to spend a weekend and once you get to the station, a short train ride and you are back in Paris, so I was very happy with the choice.
The breakfast buffet was very disappointing. The food was extremely ordinary. I, foolishly perhaps, had some salmon on the first morning and really wondered if it was that which caused me to spend the evening with severe gastro ( I certainly didn't eat anything else during the day except for a coffee), and ended up going to a local hospital the next day! However, that can happen anywhere, and the hotel staff were incredibly kind and helpful.
I had a visit to the Guerlain spa ... WOW!! Very expensive but well worth it. The pool area was lovely - though full of children on the evening I went.
All in all I would certainly go back, but would head out for meals rather than rely on the hotel.

The whole experience was fantastic. We were upgraded to a suite, had a massage in the Spa, ate a floor-less meal for dinner and they organized a private car to take us to CDG airport in the morning. When back in Europe I will make an effort to return for longer.

The Trianon Palace is a rather stately hotel that immediately impresses when you arrive. The main corridor from the main entrance to the restaurants is very elegant and really makes you feel that you are in a unique place. The restaurants are nice, both the cafe one and the breakfast one. We did not eat at the Gordon Ramsay place. Service from the staff was uncomfortably slow, even for France, and that was a minor drawback.

The spa and indoor pool are amazing. These are perhaps the best feature of the hotel. The fitness center will also be good for most people too.

Rooms are rather large and the bathrooms are also nice. We really like the toiletries provided by the other - they are rather luxe.

In terms of location, it is probably best to take a taxi from the train station or from Paris. The walk from the train station to the hotel is maybe 15 minutes and portions of it are over cobblestone or uneven surfaces that are not great with rolled luggage.

You are a short walk from the hotel to the Chateau and the other sights in Versailles, which is great for getting a full day or two there.

Room Tip: Pay close attention to which type of room you are getting. There seems to be a range of room types...

We travel extensively and this hotel ranks in the top two that we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived we felt pampered and special. Upon arrival we were given a tour by a sweet young woman. The hotel is beautiful, luxurious and charming. We had a gorgeous room in the main building. The bed was very comfortable and everything was impeccably clean. The bathroom was incredible with a large shower, large soaking tub, robes and slippers. We had a small balcony and were able to open the doors to let in fresh air. The concierge service was the best we have ever experienced. They helped us with places to eat, information on the palace, riding the subway and arranging a taxi to the airport. We took several meals, snacks and drinks at the hotel. We were always treated very well and found the food to be beyond our expectations. Our only disappointment was that the Gordon Ramsey restaurant was closed during our stay, but things like that happen. Overall, this is the perfect place to go and just relax and be comfortable while getting excellent service. We spent our first four nights in Paris and then the next three here. In retrospect I wish we would have stayed here the whole time and just taken day trips to Paris. I cannot say enough good things about Trianon Palace Hotel. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat and only hope that I have the pleasure to return one day!

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the main building.

First the good:
The location is excellent with direct access to the gardens. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the sheep graze while I ate breakfast. Breakfast was SPECTACULAR! The rooms are spacious and quiet. I had an amazing nights sleep there on the super comfy beds. I needed a plug converter and they lend them to you. So grateful for that!

The not so good:
1. The doormen watched me haul my own luggage up the stairs upon arriving and leaving.
2. The receptionist made condescending remarks thinking I didn't hear her.
3. The bathroom still had hair in the tub.
4. The shower knobs were falling out and completely useless. I couldn't adjust the water temp.

I'm pretty good at overlooking most things, but if you want to be a four star, it takes a lot more than a nice building and good location.

Room Tip: You want a room in the adjacent building where the windows face the gardens. It's quiet and dar...

Dear Madam,

First of all allow me to thank you for choosing our hotel to stay in Versailles.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for a service which was not up to the standards we are used to deliver. I immediately shared your comments with all the Department Managers in view to take the corrective actions.
As far as the deposit amount is concerned, it is true that our staff has to apply this procedure but I apologize once again if the Receptionist seems to be condescending because it is not the kind of attitude acceptable to us.I would not like you to stay on this bad experience, that is the reason why I do hope that you will allow us another opportunity to prove our merits by coming back to the Trianon Palace. In the meantime, I wish you a Happy New Year.
Sincerely,

Grégoire Salamin
