“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

I have been on the normal tourist boats on the seine which were fantastic but this really topped it. The staff were so polite, helpful and attentive. The food was by no means compromised by way of it being cooked on a boat as is usually the case - it was easily able to compete with the better Parisian restaurants. The views from the boat were stunning and the decor so beautiful with morrocan style ceiling lanterns. I really could not recommend this enough if you are looking for a romantic outing. Certainly worth every penny.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

A very good two hour cruise accompanied with good food and wine. My wife's a vegetarian, and they had a lot of vegetarian options - always a good thing. A great way to see Paris by night with your significant other.

“Great cruise with great food and service !!! Must do when in Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

Though there were a lot of options available for the cruise after reading good reviews on TA decided to go for this one and I think it was a very good decision . We went on the 4th of july which a Friday evening .

We went at 7.30 (though time was 7.45) but were warmly welcomed and ushered to our seat . The boat is a old style boat with wooden chairs and tables and with nice and minimal décor . The food options were very good and we went for a 3 course meal and the starters were excellent so as the main course . In the main course I ordered salmon fillet and wife ordered lamb shoulder and both were mouth watering . For dessert we had crème brule and apple philo pastry . I am not going much into the food details but again stress that food was too good

We got a chance to see the 5 minutes blinking lights illumination of the Eiffel tower and it was a real feats to the eyes .

The service was excellent and our captain Ananda was really attentive and catered to our requests immediately .

The best part of the whole tour is that it is being personally run and the boat is actually captained by the owner Nicolas Gailledrat whom we met after the cruise . Nic comes out to be a very sweet guy and has a passion to the boat and the food and the guests . Though a hard core French he has a lot of Indian spiritual influence which makes him a very likeable person .

So when in Paris looking for a cruise I suggest this is the best one . A great value for money with excellent service and food .

Thanks Nicolas and team for making a great evening for me and my family .

One piece of advice , guys book it well in advance otherwise they are pretty busy more so during high season

“One of best Parisian experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

A friend also travelling to pairs did some research on Seine River boat dinner and recommended Le Calife. Somehow when I searched tripadvisor only the bigger boats turned up. 8 had to search Le Calife by name to finally see other travelers comments, which were consistently excellent.

I also compared the menus, seating arrangement and price and found Le Calife offering the best in every aspect.

We boarded at 7.45pm and were expecting to embark at 8.30pm. We guessed they were waiting for sunset and finally embarked at 9pm. The 4 course dinner was very good in terms of taste and service delivery (our requests always speedily responded without any follow up). The boat has glass windows (so everyone has window seat no extras charged for window seats like other operators) and glass ceiling (only the front session which we were allocated probably coz we reserved well in advance). Little yellow lamps and candles at table make the atmosphere very romantic.

We had grandparents, parents and children in our group. We saw other groups were family like us, or just friends, or couples. We can see everyone truly enjoy the cruise, appreciating the various monuments as we sailed the river. The high point was when we passed by Tour Eiffel as it was exactly the time when the tower was lit and sparkled.

So happy that everyone enjoyed the boat dinner as our last dinner in Paris. It was a good way to conclude our trip in Paris.

“60th birthday dinner cruise was a wonderful experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

We were in Paris for a week to celebrate the 60th birthday of my beautiful wife, Lesley. I wanted something special and memorable, so took to TripAdvisor to seek out reviews for Paris restaurants. Unfortunately, the Eiffel Tower restaurant was fully booked for the day, so I kept searching and came across these fabulous reviews for this beautiful old boat.
We were not disappointed in anyway. We were aboard by 8.15pm, greeted with a glass of champagne after being shown to our table. The meal consisted of a starter, main, cheese and dessert, wine and coffee were extra. The meal was exceptional for a boat, I noticed a few reviewers complaining about meals on some of the other Seine cruises, but no problems with Le Calife, absolutely first class.
The service was friendly and attentive, they even brought my wifes' dessert with a sparkler and had the boat sing "Happy Birthday" to her, she was thrilled!
The cruise starts at 9pm and rounds the Ile de Paris heading north towards the Eiffel Tower. All along the Seine there are people out having picnics and playing guitars, etc, a wonderful sight. By 10pm we were nearing the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty, which were both now lit up, beautiful. Once again, Le Calife turns around and heads back to its docking station near to the Pont D'Arts (bridge with Love Locks).
All in all, a once in a lifetime experience for both of us, everything was perfect and we shall remember it for the rest of our lives. Thank you goes to all involved in making this a very special night for us both.
