After discovering APSO in my local neighborhood during our holiday I instantly planned to visit. After discovering its rating on TripAdviser, I was really looking forward to it.
And I was not disappointed.
For wine, the maitre'd made a suggestion (which we enjoyed), a 2004 Bordeaux drop which was beautiful on its own, but complimented the meal very well, and was only €25.
We enjoyed the fois gras for entree (me the fried with apple, my wife with truffle oil). The serving size of the entree is particularly big, and that much fois grad is very rich, but amazing.
For mains, we continued our love of duck. I enjoyed the confit with potato and wild mushrooms, my wife had the duck stew with cherry sauce. Both were fantastic choices.
For dessert, I enjoyed the creme brûlée, my wife a duo of ice cream.
The service and attentiveness here is some of, if not the best we have experienced in Paris.
Friendly, warm but not in your face. A perfect balance.
The total price was very reasonable, and we are strongly considering retuning before this trip to Paris is over. Total price including wine was €121
Whilst a reservation here can be difficult to obtain, do try and get a later sitting. You might feel a little rushed if you eat a 6 or 6:30 sitting. There is definitely someone coming to sit in your table that night and you might get the feeling thorough the meal.
Don't eat before your visit. The portions here are very generous, and very rich in flavour. You want to be very hungry.
