So good I went there several times over a 10-day trip, as it was just a block or two from my hotel.
The first meal was simple roasted chicken & potatoes, but it was delicious and inexpensive. They have Bertillon ice cream which is highly recommended!
The second time, I wanted to go back & try the confit du canard that I had seen other people enjoying.... it was HEAVEN!! Crispy skin, juicy meat, tasty potatoes - and a bargain at 14 euros!
The third visit, I just wanted a quick meal so I tried the charcuterie platter for one, at only 9 euros, and it was all I could eat. Two types of dried sausage, some sliced ham, cornichons, & two thick slabs of pate.
The house wine was very reasonably priced & good, as well. Service was friendly & responsive to your needs. The waiters were not completely fluent in English but there was an English menu if needed. This is a good place to try aligot which is a thick mashed-potato dish served tableside by holding the pot up very high & dropping it down onto your plate.
There seem to be a lot of local patrons, as when I arrived for dinner about 10 pm one night, I was the only American in the place. However, when you go earlier in the night it is about half & half between French couples out for the night & tourists looking for a good meal.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. In fact, I wish it was in my hometown! I would be there every week!
